Essengue still my first choice but doesn't look as if he will be available at 11. "He's more talented than Risacher". "He's like Scottiee Pippen".

If he really is a good defender, then yeah, he will be gone by 11.

That assessment makes me Comfortable with Coward™

I am still very high on him despite the mocks. Granted, I like 3 or 4 others just as well, but I would be more than just "comfortable" if we drafted him. We have several needs, but IMO he fills the biggest one. The guy has the measurables and can shoot.

anyone want to take a stab at a complete nba draft ranking of guys who can dribble, pass, and shoot? (it's smaller than you think)

I'd put cedric on this list.

I'd put cedric on this list.

Especially when you exclude smaller PGs from the list.
Plus, he can defend

I think CMB will be gone by the time we pick, so I have not given him too much consideration.
Remember, we thought the same about Shae, Scoot and Clingan. All three were supposed to be gone when we picked. We actually seem to have a strategy of taking whoever drops.

He went to BYU, but I don't think he's mormon, unless he converted while there?
there are articles about his new christian faith, and how he goes to church. As a BYU player, I assume that means mormonism.

I've talked about it before, but Egor is such a weird evaluation for me.

I actually really like his off ball play. Reads the floor, cuts to open space, does a great job sliding into open space as a relocation shooter. And I do believe in the jumper to a reasonable degree.

But I have little faith that he has the tools to be a high level on ball guy. Weak handle, little explosion out of moves, hesitant short striding driver, overall plays upright. Even on stack plays he struggled to get into the paint. Doesn't handle contact well at the rim either. So many wild flings at the basket...makes me worried about the touch overall and what level the jumper can get too.

The skill level and passing feel at his size is unique though and I think he'll be average defensively as he gets stronger. I thought he played with pretty decent feel and instincts on that end and seems to be pretty competitive.

So I don't know. Think the floor is pretty low if the jumper doesn't get to the reasonable level but I think he gets fairly interesting if he can develop into a high level shooter and pair the with his passing feel to be a pretty awesome off ball player that can play a little in ball screens secondarily. Actually think the jumper is even more important for his pnr play as he doesn't really break the paint often and can get caught anticipating the help shifting and windows opening when he hasn't threatened the defense enough to make that happen. If the big was forced to play him at the level of the screen consistently, those windows get much bigger and more obvious. Think he's always a guy that will struggle with switching pnr defense though.

Very curious to see how his career pans out.

He's a prospect I can learn a lot from on how I scout and value players.

I don't recall those other 3 being a surprise dropping to us, but I agree CMB could just because there are so many other options at 9 or 10.

Plus, he is a bit of a tweener (height-wise), which does not bother me because of positionless basketball that is currently being played and the fact that he can guard multiple positions.

His lack of 3pt shooting (9-34 last year) could also cause him to slide, but I think in two years he will be just fine at that.

You've got to love his motor, and having at least 3 players with high motors on the team would be exciting.
