I looked at about 8 different mocks just now. They are all over the place with their 3-10 picks.
Two of them had Ace dropping to 4th behind VJ.

Just do not pick another Cody Williams.
Like supposed genius Danny Ainge did at the 10th pick last draft.
other players available at number 10 were Kel-el Ware, Dalton Knecht, Matas Buzelis and Jared McCain.

Danny Ainge misses as much as most. But he's historically made up for it by swinging two or three times as often as everyone else.

If we don't move up, how would people feel about trading out? It's just that we have a lot of young players with promise at practically all positions. Obviously it's very unlikely that any of them (except p o s s i b l y Shae) become stars, but I'm not exactly seeing "star" for any player outside of, well, the top 2.

Of course, it depends on who the player is that we trade for. Suppose it's, say, Devin Booker?

Evan Mobley is who we need

i'd rather take a shot at a 2nd draft guy similar to deni than dump all of our future assets into a guy like book.

#10 pick is good enough to get you a young someone with some upside but in a bad fit situation, but not enough to net you a 'star' who might not be on our timeline anyway.

And who is available with the Blazers pick.

Avdija should be a star next season, unless we have a pumpkin for a coach.

I was amazed that Deni was available. Whom do you have in mind for a "second draft"? (Still hoping for Anthony Black - maybe if the Magic are utterly incapable of scoring in the playoffs...)

Ausar Thomson? Jaime Jaquez seems to have fallen out of favor in Miami... Ooh, how about Jeremy Sochan?

Anthony Black is who I’d want. Probably would be the most obtainable, and they’re a team that would need Ant’s scoring, so there is someone on the team that they’d want to make this a compelling trade for both teams.

Sochan would be interesting too but not sure who SA would want. I’m against giving up any 1sts for him.

I haven’t really gotten a chance to watch any prospects the whole year. Someone who knows Kasparas Jakucionis well enough, let me know:

- Can he play without the ball at all?

I’m not setting on hopes of a top 4 pick, so I’m kind of assuming we’ll be around 10. I’d be really interested in Kasparas if he’s available at 10.

I’ve watch some clips of his defense and do believe he will be a plus on that side of the ball eventually. Needs to get stronger to guard bigger wings, but I think he’s tall enough to guard 1-3. I also do think he will eventually be a great catch and shoot kind of guy, although I know it seems he’s better creating his on shot.

I liked Sochan coming out of Baylor because of his ball handling and defense for a forward. And I would also take him this year if he were in the draft.
But with Camara and Deni already on the team, I think we would be better off using our trade assets on a more significant need.

The question is, what is our biggest need that is realistically obtainable? A young backup PG like Black, who excels defensively? Or a young backup PG who excels at shooting? Tough to answer, not knowing what they intend to do with Ayton, Grant, and Simons.

Realistically, can they move Grant's contract? Probably the hardest one to move since the other two have ending contracts. Right now, I am going to assume he will be back. They certainly can still trade for a young replacement, though. (or just draft one)

If they move Ayton and start Clingan, more offense is needed. But IMO it would be wiser to keep Ayton and try to negotiate a smaller contract. I think that is possible.

If they move Simons, a shooter is most definitely needed. So I guess my answer is that we go after a PG who can shoot and give Rupert more minutes at SG for his defensive ability. Or just draft one. Fears or Richardson? That position seems to be pretty deep in this draft.

This time it took 54 tries to get the #1. Again San Antonio got it a bunch of times. I counted 6 times for SA in 54 tries.
