Event 2025 NBA DRAFT LOTTERY, COMBINE, AND DRAFT

I like doing the comp game, but people always think you are saying your prospect will be your comp pick. I just comp guys in their similarities and styles, not the finished product. There are very, very few givens in judging young guys and where they be. Plus, there is almost always some qualifier, too. "A taller version of", " tougher version of" etc.
My comp for Essengue is Holmgren (not Mike). Isn't the shot blocker like Chet, yet. But, it's pretty easy to see Noah eventually add some blocks to his game.

Egor to Portland... AGAIN. I don't believe CMB will go that early. I think Noa is a lottery pick.

That's not a new mock. Its just doing comps for the lotto picks based on their May 19th mock. They even link that mock in the article. Should be seeing a new actual mock soon though.

A mock draft with trades I’d imagine some would like to see happen

STOMP

That would be phenomenal if it happened. The player with the most offensive upside in the draft and a guy I think is a pretty safe bet to be at least a solid-to-good pro, and the Blazers give up two players that really don't fit into their plans. George probably doesn't play much and eventually gets dealt. The Blazers learn and like wind up in the 2026 lottery.

Obviously, it probably doesn't happen, but I don't think it CAN'T happen. I don't live that far from Philly. I know there are some calls for them to blow it up. Philadelphia teams don't blow it up, even if they should. The fanbases there won't allow it. There'd be riots. This is the kind of trade they could sell to their fanbase. so it isn't totally out of the question, even if it's very unlikely.

Philly lived through "The Process" not too long ago.... Yes, the fans will allow it.

Givony and Woo argue over their mock drafts for ESPN.com

Some surprises: Harper drops to 4 for Givony (Spurs take Knipple), both have Queen going to the Raptors at 9 and Essengue dropping past us. We end up with either Emin or Jakucionis, with neither writer seeming particularly interested.

The Athletic have finally brought out their yearly draft guide

Looks like we'll get a player in their "4" range:

Athletic's next tier (note the huge gap they have between Jakucionis (7) and Emin (25), whereas Givony and Woo seem to regard them as about equal)

Getting Ace Bailey and Kon in one draft would beat huge home run reminiscent of the draft we traded for Aldridge and Roy in

Wow, was June 10th anointed Mock Draft Day? Because the Ringer's just updated theirs, too. You're not going to like who they've got us taking, though...

Why do mocks have the Sixers taking a guard? I feel like Bailey is the obvious pick there at 3.
Because Bailey is scaring people. Everybody says that if his head is screwed on tight he's the second-best prospect in the draft, but very few people seem to think it is. Another Michael Beasley?

I'd be happy if Essengue was available for us or Murray-Boyles

Philly must not be too impressed with VJ or Bailey. Maybe they end up trading down if SA does not want to give up Harper.

@MikeAScott
Sources: The 76ers have engaged with the Spurs about potentially moving up to the No. 2 pick. For now, the Sixers have zeroed in on four NBA Draft prospects with the No. 3 pick, including a private workout last week with VJ Edgecombe and Ace Bailey visiting Philadelphia next week

I hope we can make an Ant to Orlando trade happen. If the board falls like I think it might, we could be picking at the top of a fairly large tier.

I like Drake Powell at #25 much more than Carter Bryant at #11.

I would take a really strong look at Joan Beringer if we pick up #16. I think he's the best defensive center in the class and has the mobility to offer some different looks schematically than Donovan.

Ant+#11
Isaac + Anthony + #16 + #25

Think Orlando would probably want a future 1st tacked on to make this happen. They obviously still really like Isaac, for good reason.

wut??? You're attaching the 11th pick to Simons in order to move down to 16 and adding the 25th pick plus a couple of role players?

YUCK!

I'm probably out on a limb, but I value Isaac on his deal moving forward more than Simons on an expiring. And unless there's a guy that I really like still at 11, I prefer having 16 and 25.

Isaac’s contract has years but at a lower cost and with off ramps as described by others here.
I do agree that if someone you love isn’t at 11, moving down 5 spots and getting 25 may be reasonable. Fortunately, IMHO, there will be one of a handful of players available at 11, and I wouldn’t want to risk losing any of them to move down for an extra pick.

Hugo’s updated measurements:

6’6.25” w/o shoes
6’10.75” wingspan
223 lbs

The sleeper of the draft

I hope CMB falls in a good spot for his skill set. Very fun player that appeals to my basketball sensibilities.

So long as that "good spot" is not OKC. Or the Lakers (who could certainly use him.)
I've seen him going to Houston (as well as falling into the 20s, so go figure) which fits their type, but they seem over-stocked for that very reason.

Rumors:
Philly is talking to SA about trading for the #2
Dumars (New Orleans) really likes Ace Bailey and is trying to trade up for him
Kings "aggressively" trying to move up
Demin falling out of the lottery
All teams (Atlanta, OKC, Orlando, Brooklyn) with multiple first rounders are looking to package them to move up
