the Blazers can clearly build around Deni. I don't know who fits right now. They're not consistent enough. Jerami Grant is great if he doesn't try to do too much.
The Blazers will have a team that can play the mismatches. Deni scored 41 tonight, and yet I thought he did a lot of that without forcing the action against better defenders. Honestly, I thought Jrue was doing some really boneheaded stuff.

I don't mind Jerami trying to do too much if he's being guarded by the other team's fourth-best defender.

I don't think this will be so much a matter of who fits as much as how we make it fit. What is the style we employ. How deep are we going on the bench and how many minutes each of these guys are playing.

Deni could score less next year and be a significantly better player, which is scary. I think his 3-point shot struggled a bit the last couple of months from a combination of overuse and also that the way we played him he took more shots from the top when over the summer and the early part of the season he shot well from the wing. Again, if they can keep this team relatively healthy next year, Deni can go into the playoffs with a lot more tread on his tires.

Just going to say this: I love the draft, and I love this draft.

But to see this team play the way it did down the stretch when it got healthy, to go on the road in the play-in, to get down double-figures in the fourth quarter after leading by double figures in the first half, to not play its best game and to gut it out and win at the end, I'm more than thrilled. If they had won that game any other way, I might be disappointed, but they won tonight like a good team wins. I don't see how you couldn't at least give the benefit of the doubt to how this team has been built and be excited for what it's capable of next year with Lillard back and so many young contributors who presumably would be better.

If you can't find a way to enjoy this, man, what are you alive for?

He's chewing on a piece of hay.

EDIT: He's chewing on the remains of Dillon Brooks.

It was a flagrant. Flagrant fakery. TV guys said Clingan pulled Brooks to the floor. LOL. What happened was, as soon as Brooks felt contact to his neck he wisely fell to the floor.
Don't know if TV guys said that as I've come to tune them out, but the ref did in his explanation of the fake drama call. Having just watched the replay 12 times it's amazing he said that. To me it seemed like the refereeing was dead set on making this game a photo finish.

The Google implies it's a plastic toothpick, so maybe you're correct.
