Reread my postWho was The Guy for the Spurs?
The problem is that kinda model very rarely wins championsips. In the last 25 yrs, the 04 pistons and the 14 spurs are the only teams that stand out as winning without "the guy."
Interesting answer by Chauncey talking about how not having "the guy" makes you less predictable. I'm beginning to hear and see that he's looking at a Pistons model. That idea hadn't occurred to me.
Rob is listed at 6'9?

Dame and Ant wasn't a good pair.Seems like they're gonna let Scoot and Simons battle it out during training camp to see who The Guy is going to be.
Said Ant really struggled to play with Dame.

They had this one tall dude who was maybe a top 20 player ever in the history of the game. Tim somethingThe other years they won.
every NBA champion over the last 20 years has had "the guy". Every team that lost in the finals over that time has had their own 'guy'.
you absolutely need a 'guy' to be successful. That's as close to an axiom as you can get. The key is what you put around your guy(s), and that was Olshey's massive failure with Dame
and Chauncey is wrong...I think the Blazers will be predictable; they'll lose a lot of games[/QUOTE]
Both he and Cronin have pretty much said to be prepared to lose a lot of games because "we're young" and won't be consistent.
Chauncey seems to intimate that Dame was the Big Brother he didn't want to overshadow. Now, Anfernee needs to step into the limelight.Dame and Ant wasn't a good pair.
I'm gonna keep beating this drum. The biggest barrier for him becoming elite offensively is about one shooting foul drawn per game. If he gets to even 5 FTA, he's gonna be on a different tier.Ant is listed as 14 lbs heavier. That to me is encouraging. It was much needed IMO. He needed to get stronger. 195 seems like a good weight for him. That is only 5 lbs less than Shae
After looking at the above roster, did you honestly expect something different?Joe pretty much telling us to get ready to lose a lot.

Uh, no.After looking at the above roster, did you honestly expect something different?

interesting, they said the renewal rate for the STH's was 92%.
A three-man rotation is 32 mpg. I'm not sweating it. Ant is a true combo guard. Ant/Scoot, Ant/Shae, Scoot/Shae. All three combos work. We can even run some three guard sets.I just don't see how they're going to find minutes for all these guards.
Stream on YouTube on your phone? Is this on the radio? I want to take my dog for a walk but I’m not sure what my options are.
This is kinda my field right? Not sure what he COULD say. Under contract with ROOT for two more seasons I believe. Why say something that MIGHT jeopardize future situations. Just my opinion. He sidestepped the streaming question! Ugh.
