Game Thread (2nd attempt) Yankees @ Rays 5/12/15 7:10PM (1 Viewer)

One thing about hockey that diminishes the game is the ruthless
nonsense that some players display with illegal checks, boarding
and wielding of hockey sticks. The game can become
"Gladiators On Ice". Not good for the game.

In fairness they have done a good job cleaning up the sport. It's not the 1975 Flyers out there anymore.

...they just said tonight's attendance is the lowest ever for a Rays/Yanx game at Tampa.. (150+ games)

Did not know the batter's box was part of MLBs
strike zone!

I knew they scored too many runs last night.

Oh well, can't win them all. Now we've got Warren & Whitley in the last two.

I guess the Yanks were due to lose one of those typical close, sh!tty annoying games at Tampa. The game was probably lost in the first inning when the Yanks had bases loaded no outs with two runs already in, and they didn't score any more runs.

Oh well, realistically, it would be unusual for the Yanks to go into that shit place and take the first four going back to their last sweep.

The "mission" remains 2/4 at Tampa....imo.

But a tough loss indeed, giving up a 2 run lead late in the game...
......ah sh!t.

Archer is a very good pitcher!

Yes, should've had more runs in the first inning but that has nothing to do with not doing anything in the final 8. I said last night I hope they saved some runs. Obviously that wasn't the case. On to the next one.

Gave 'em the game %^$$^%&^%%%$%&^%^%$^&&*&(*(((**&!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ellsbury & Gardner getting thrown out in the same inning was also a killer.

Nice reminder that the 2014 season wasn't that long ago, lol!

hopefully with Warren & Whitley going in the final two we can walk out of Tampa with at least a split.

If they get back to hitting these last two games they will be fine.

Just off the top of my head with only one look at the play, my first view of Gardy getting thrown out CS might've been worthy of a second look (review) ....looked as if his hands were on the base when the tag was applied on his chest area.

Chances were, Yanks weren't going to do much with Archer the rest of the way.
The kid is a special pitcher.
Rays just keep finding and developing good young pitchers.
Cobb has been one of the better pitchers in the league, now down with TJ surgery and Moore is a fine young lefty who is due back in June.

If this team gets respectable run production, they could hang around all season in contention for the division.

Shouldn't you be posting this on the Ray's board?

I know I'm nitpicking, and not blaming the loss on McCann, but he's not exactly Thurman Munson or Jim Sunberg back there. Lol

...wow...though Eovaldi pitched well, unfortunately both batters he walked came around to score and McCann had nothing to do with that. And there's a reason why there were 3 pitches that were ruled wild pitches instead of passed balls.
...McCann is one of the better catchers around...Munson?...Sunberg?...very poor choices on your part, because both had quite a few more PBs than McCann, and at a higher rate.

Okay- McCann is a better "catcher" than those two.
Feel better now?

I have to agree with Ron here, there was very little McCann could do on those WILD PITCHES.

Oh & BTW: He forced me to say this.

Does fighting about opinions ever get old...?

Excuse me Rick, speaking about the CURRENT Yankee opponent is totally relevant to this game thread, and you obviously didn't consider or rexognize the first part of my post (#51) which you are replying to:

Honestly, no offense intended, but what gives with you guys?

Jeez.
