2nd year players should not be getting Ts in the playoffs

Zach Collins arguably cost us the game.

I bet he got an earful afterwards.
That was an interesting play... I wish I knew what he said, because honestly unless it was real bad I don't think the ref should call it. They need to be consistent with T’s if you want to call a T for whining at the refs, fine but do it for everyone.

It was that and the bs foul on kanter to negate that bucket. I have never seen a basketball go through the net, hit the ground, and then hit the ground again before a call gets made.
That was a huge turning point in that game it could have been a bucket + ft chance to tie it and stim the momentum. Instead they call a foul on Kanter, Milsap makes a 3 becomes a 6 point game. I dont think the Blazers ever tied or led again after that.

well, Zach had one rebound to go with his one T. I'm inclined to think Portland's problems rebounding were a much bigger factor than a single FT

You try to tame and control that fire, he's nowhere near the player he is....and that's not saying much.

I was at the game.

Collins did not appear to say anything at all to Foster. The T was in response to Zach throwing his arms up in disagreement while watching the replay as he stood at the free throw line. He was a little animated for sure, but it was a touchy call and refs almost never T a guy up in that situation and allow for a little venting after a tough, 50/50 play. Especially at the end of a close game in the playoffs. And I have literally seen dozens of times where a guy like Draymond Green runs up on the refs while swearing and waving their arms, and escaped getting T'd up. It just reeked of officiating bias towards a role player who does not enjoy those same luxuries.

It looked like Terry was going to get a T on that play but decided to pull back because it was a bad time to get one with how close and little time was left in the game.

Harris in game 2

Iv seen 4 nuggets players and 3 Blazer players go off on the refs WAY more then Collins did. That was the classic "I made a bad call and i'm going to T you up because I don't want to hear it" call from Foster. Thats not a bad T on Collins but a bad T by a supposed good ref.

Who ever said Foster was a good ref? :dunno:

What bothers me on that call is that Draymond Green does 3 times worse on almost every call during a game and seldom gets T'd up for the amount of arguing and whining he does. It shouldn't matter what the stature or reputation of a player is. It is either a T or not a T as consistency is all the players want.

Mike Richman said that Zach said the magic word.

I didn't see it.

That was bullshit. Was a nonsense call that was compounded by the ridiculous tech.

I'll be honest--I was driving, so I didn't see the T. But watching it now, I get it. It's not like he was just reacting at the time of the call. The call was made, everyone lined up for the free throw, everyone was set, and then he throws his crazy long arms up in the air while turning around and stepping away from the lane. Very much a "look at me" type action. I can see why the ref would view that as the player trying to show him up.

Yeah wasn't even a foul to begin with. Foster is dirty

The tweet said that Collins didn't say a word...

I understand his frustration. It was a bad foul call, but I can also understand why he got a T.

No I meant Richman in his daily pod this morning said that's why he got the tech. His mouth didn't even move. It was for his reaction. Still don't think it's warranted. If that were any other veteran player, refs would look the other way.

Warranted or not, Zach is a moron, and there would have been no tech if he hadn't acted like one.

Between our continual inability to secure defensive rebounds and that call on Kanter, I permanently lost a good chunk of my sanity last night.

Then why aren't other players (Draymond Green) giving T's for even worse demonstrations? Consistency needs to be the rule.

What is the "magic word"?

You go ahead and focus on consistency and other players. I'll just focus on this individual, isolated incident, independent of others.

In my opinion, in this instance, Zach's actions were worthy of a T.

The kid got a T….it's how he's wired....that T didn't win the game in my view...I mentioned in the game thread that Will Barton hitting unexpected back to back 3s to take the lead after we were leaving every shot short at the end....Will Barton gave them the lead and made us pay ...when it counted, Will was money even though he shot like shit most of the series

I will and you focus on one play as I want consistency and fairness. That has nothing to do with whether Collins "deserved" a T or not. Are you of the mindset that there should be different set of rules for different level of players?
