So you don't think he's a perfect compliment to Aldridge?

Perfect complement? I don't know if he's perfect. He'd be a solid complement...guys who can defend and rebound are generally good complementary players on any team. If Portland had a really good pick-and-roll or alley-oop point guard, he'd be a pretty excellent fit.

they made it public they didn't want what NJ offered? Where?

You didn't see the announcement from their GM when the rumor was out in the open? They declined the offer. You don't remember?

how is orlando getting a high draft pick again? knicks have already traded their 2012, 2014, and 2016 picks

They wouldn't get a draft pick then. It's not like Orlando has a choice unless they are fine losing him for nothing.

Hedo sucks, and would suck worse playing PF alongside Carmelo. No.

No as in No speaking as a Orlando GM? It's really an easy fix. Any they need to do is lose the rest of the way and they get a high draft and find the PF or Center while big baby plays PF or Center. Turk is only gonna have 2 more seasons. You guys act like it's a BRoy contract (5 years 60 mil+) or something! LOL

Turk can play SG, wharves it really doesn't matter. They are rebuilding and getting a locked in superstar that will sell you 10-15k tickets on his name alone is well worth it.

I remember them saying they weren't trading Dwight. I don't recall their GM coming out and saying we have formally rejected the offer of Lopez and Gerald Wallace for Dwight. No.

So their rebuilding around Carmelo, but have very little cap space to do anything, and are locked into long deals with big Baby, Jason Richardson? and no good picks? How is that a rebuild? That's retooling into a shit team, but not high lotto pick bad. They can lose every game after that trade, and they likely are still outside of the top 5 for their pick. But, with Carmelo,a dn keeping Hedo, etc., they probably win a few games. They're 22-12 right now. They need to bottom out, and you have them likely still getting to 30-ish. Not a great rebuild.

meanwhile, orlando has the 5th best record in the nba, and the ability to pay dwight 25 million more than anyone else this summer, call his bluff

and if every player they brought in didnt drastically under perform expectation, they might actually have a good title shot one of these years

They do have a choice. Yes to Lopez, Brooks, and possibly 4 picks. Houston's and NJ's this year. And, maybe even NJ's in 2014 and 16

4 picks? How you manage they get 4 picks?

Yeah they did that before when they lost Shaq to L.A. Remember they were contenders?

did you read what I wrote after 4 picks? HOUSTON'S AND NJ'S THIS YEAR, AND NJ'S IN 14 AND 16.

LOL, I would think Portland would take Richardson then. Easy fix. :D

why would we take on Jason Richardson? He's making 6 million a year over the next 3 years. No thanks.

Well because we actually get a very capable center. We can go back and forth all day long. Also, if we get Nelson, then what else would we need?

Nelson can walk after the season, so we can be left with Chandler and Richardson. And, doesn't matter, because Orlando is saying no.

Also, would like to see a link to Orlando GM specifically rejecting previous NJ offer.

"The scenario as currently constructed with Wallace joining Lopez in Orlando as the primary pieces is not enough to persuade the organization to move forward with the deal quickly, the person said."

yeah, not seeing GM declining deal.

it wasnt enough at the beginning of the year, might be enough an hour before the deadline

Deal offered, deal declined, source saying not enough, end of story

Amazing how often you claim one thing, and produce links of something different. The organization(read:owner, who doesn't want to move Dwight) felt it wasn't enough to move along quickly. I don't see a GM rejecting a deal. the longer Orlando waits, the better NJ's pick becomes. Like Utah last year.

It's amazing that you think a superstar is enough to get Howard. I guess we can wait and see. Trade deadline is coming up shortly. We will see I guess.
