Only 30 minutes before the trade deadline and still nothing. Lets make a deal already, Carter, Jefferson, Wallace anyone just make the damn deal so we can become serious contenders

Chad Ford: Spies in New Jersey say it looks like Vince Carter will finish the season as a Net. With just 45 minutes to go before the trade deadline, trade talks have stalled with Carter. It's not impossible that things heat up right toward the end. It's happened before. But right now the odds are strongly in favor of Carter remaining in New Jersey unless their owner, Bruce Ratner, comes back to management and tells them to dump him at any cost.

like i said... a deal could happen up till 5 est but at this point its painfully obvious we are doing shit. NOT EVEN GETTING A BANGER AT PF. SAD

god help us if blake gets hurt again. watching sergio and batum get a combined 9 points is unwatchable

To be fair, if Batum got more of Travis' minutes at SF he might score more, while playing better D. :dunno:
 
There is no point in mortgaging the future to pick up a player that isn't going to win us a title this year anyway.
 
Hope we get a new thread at the 20 minutes mark and would expect the frequency of new threads to be higher from there on.

If a deal was going to happen after the deadline we'd atleast here something before the deadline but no one's saying shit so most likely nothing's happening.

It's possible the Blazers have made a trade but the news hasn't broken yet. In fact I remember quite a few trades from previous years that weren't announced until several hours after the deadline had passed.
 
Is anyone else having trouble paying attention at work?

Even though I really doubt the Blazers make a significant move, I still keep checking every 10 minutes.
 
A source has told David Aldridge that there have been Thursday discussions between the Sixers and Blazers centered on Andre Miller.

The deal would involve the expiring contract of Blazers center Raef LaFrentz and another Portland guard in exchange for Miller and forward Reggie Evans.

Hmm... that would have a good chance of improving us the rest of the way. Backup 4 is a joke right now and Andre Miller does a lot of things well.

The guard would probably be Sergio, though, and some posters here would have seizures.

And Evans' contract runs for two more seasons at $10 total. Not a ridiculous amount of money, but it'd hurt our flexibility this summer...

Just got word from a Bucks source that the team is highly unlikely to do a deal involving Richard Jefferson or anyone else on the roster.

"We're going to stand pat, I think" the source told me.

The Bucks had discussed several Jefferson trade scenarios with the Blazers and Cavs, but talks cooled this morning and haven't picked up with just under 20 minutes to go before the trade deadline.

We are not giving up Bayless so that rumor doesn't mean much. Memphis is not trading Lowry and even if they did I doubt there would be enough time left for Portland and Phil to make a trade. I wouldn't mind Miller though if we could give up either or both Blake and Sergio plus RLEC.
 
If a trade is made, you won't necessarily hear about it in the next 10 minutes. It just has to be submitted to the league office by then, it may be tomorrow before we hear about any trades.

I have a hard time believing we will take on Evans' contract if we didn't want Nazr's.
 
This sucks, yesterday I thought for sure we'd land either Jefferson or Carter, now it looks like we wont land shit
