TrailBlazer fans, we need your help!Blazers + Sonics = 80 Years of NBA Baskeball 48 Playoff Apperances 198 Playoff wins Ten Division Titles Six trips to the NBA Finals 192 trips up and down I-5.

We've seen some of the greats: Bill Walton, Clyde Drexler, Terry Porter, Brandon Roy, Jack Ramsay Fred Brown, Gary Payton, Shawn Kemp, Kevin Durant, George Karl. We've seen two great players who turned into First-Class Coaches: Lenny Wilkins and Nate McMillan

And most importantly, we've shared the passion of tens of thousands of fans who have supportedour teams through the thick and thin years. Now, in the name of "Business" coupled with lies anddeceit, our rivalry is no more. Our team is gone. We do hope to bring about a revival in comingyears but for now we have no basketball team.

We are asking for your help to remind the NBA whattrue compassion and competition mean to us. We are asking for your help to please MAKE SOMENOISE for your former rivals, the Seattle SuperSonics!Us Sonic fans will invoke some cheers at tonightʼs game. Screw the Sonics. If Seattle chants are loud at all, I'll be disappointed in Blazers fans. Hopefully there will be better reasons to cheer.

The Blazers need to kick the Thunder's teeth in and Blazers fans need to help them do that.

I don't look at it as a Seattle issue, I look at it as a PNW issue. The four major sports have--wrongly, I think--decided we only need one team. The Seahawks, Ms, Blazers and Canucks. I think that's crap. Anything we can do to embarrass the League is aces in my book.

I've lived in both cities for a considerable amount of time and I don't think that the connection is that big of a deal. People in Portland seem to think of Seattle as an oppressive big brother and people in Seattle don't seem to think about Portland that often.

Seattle and the state of WA made a civic decision to not pay to keep the Sonics. They don't deserve them as much as Oklahoma City does. Sad for my friends? Yes. The NBA's fault? No.

So, it means longer flights, which means getting to the next town later, which means less rest (especially on back-to-backs), which means tired players, which means more road losses. I want a team back in Seattle just so we don't have to fly 1500+ miles just to play other teams in our division.

Besides, Clay Bennett is a lying tool. Anything that embarasses him is good in my book.

Well, I remember a certain diminutive commissioner testifying in Olympia threatening the legislature. I remember that same commissioner greasing the skids so Bennett was the one selected to purchase the team. In other words, yeah the NBA had something to do with it. It was the eqivalent of sending a dead fish to every other NBA city--fuck with us and your team sleeps with the fishes.

If this is the best idea the S.O.S. (Save our Sonics) campaign could come up with, I'm not surprised that the 2006 prospects of the Sonics moving were met with a collective yawn by the city government, the state legislature, and the citizens of Puget Sound.

Besides ... who's to say most people don't think a "Supersonics" chant is some sort of Seattle-based "we miss our Sonics but refuse to cheer for the Blazers" chant? If I hadn't seen this thread, that's how it would register to me. Just a bunch of guys who came down from Seattle to say "you're still the Sonics to me."

Basically, what I'm saying is I'm in favor of filing some sort of protest to the league, but this is a stupid idea that will have all the impact of throwing a pebble at a tank.

No way in HELL am I ever gonna root for or cheer "Super Sonics" in MY Rose Garden. That is complete and utter shit. Don't expect Blazer fans to be so fucking stupid and do something like that. Do you think the people in Seattle would care if we lost the Blazers and they still had the Sonics? They would still laugh at us. Hell, they have NFL and MLB, honestly if we didn't have an NBA team or it wasn't the only team in the city I would probably never watch or give 2 cents about the NBA.

Seattle is better off having NFL and MLB. Those are the 2 sports I wish we had here. Blazers are in my blood and are all my city has thats why I care so much. There is a reason why the people in Seattle don't care much, they have other teams to follow and know one day they will have another NBA team.

Sorry, but I don't have sympathy for Seattle or the Sonics. I hope they come back one day but I am not about to advocate for it here in Portland.

Wow! I'd heard some people in Portland had an inferiority complex when it comes to Seattle, but I didn't think it was this bad. Are you guys actually so threatened by our neighbor up north that you won't support their effort (as pathetic as it may be) to land another NBA team - that would provide a benefit for our own Blazers (closer geographically, means less travel). If they do get a team, it will be an expansion team. Which means we'll be kicking the crap out of them for years. Think about it - less travel and a weak opponent in our division. Sounds good to me.

Besides, even if the new team is called the Sonics, they won't be the same Sonics we used to hate - at least not until they get good enough to compete with use for the NW Division crown.
