He's more proven offensively than Favors, and we need a solid offensive player in the frontcourt. IMO, Monroe pairs better with Lopez than Favors does.
Edit: They're actually relatively comparable when looking at the per/36 and advanced stats, with Favors having more blocks and fouls, and Monroe having more assists. Neither are world-beaters defensively, but Monroe is more of a low-post offensive threat, whereas Favors is more of a garbage-man undersized center type. We already have Robinson for that role.
6'11 253 for Monroe 7'2 wing span standing reach 9'.5
6'10 268 for Favors I am not sure you can call him undersized especially with a 7'4 wing span and a 9'2 standing reach.
