He either raised his trade value, or is starting to understand how to be an NBA player. You can't teach his size...

His defense was still nonexistent but he showed much more awareness on offense. One step at a time I guess.

There are no positives in a loss. Only doom and gloom.

I played center growing up and it simply amazes me that centers no longer can play with thier backs to the basket, defend, shoot, and have low basketball IQ's.

If Dwight Howard played in the 80's or 90's, he would only be considered a decent center. I think centers from those era's would abuse him.

The whole bench really played well, Wright and Meyers played better than I can ever remember them playing, and CJ was awesome. If we could get something like that from them every night Portland would be in much better shape.

Who is this and what have you done with Sinobas?

Don't worry Sinobas, I've got your IP address and I'm calling 911. Don't let the impersonator hurt you. Help is on the way!

PapaG! I just got home and was about to start this thread. I thought the whole bench was great, actually. And that's all I have to say.

I was pretty happy with the bench tonight. CJ played well again. Wright played decently. I don't think we can expect much more out of the bench.

I agree, Meyers Leonard is the Justin Bieber of the NBA.

LOL, I thought about a whole BlazerFanatic-style treatise on the "Meyers Leonard" effect. You know, an insightful look into the stats........because they are everything. But I decided to go with the short version, the one based on the principle that every point he scores is returned twice to the other team by general defensive cluelessness and horrible basketball instincts. Nice hair though.

The one thing Leonard is good at is catching the ball a few feet from the hoop and swooping up for two points. Tonight Mo tossed him a couple of those, so Leonard's stats look good.

Try adding points plus rebounds minus rebounds he should have gotten his mitts on.

He was +9 tonight. Your fascination with a poster who I don't recall you debating is odd to me, though.

Break those opportunities down and post what your find. If not, it's a stupid post.

Actually Homer wears BlazerFanatics skin like Buffalo Bill did in Silence of the Lambs while looking in a mirror and asking himself if he looks statsy.

Homer is Jame Gumb?

At least now I know one of the posters who was whining about BF to you mods, though.

Myers Leonard is complete shit when it comes to being an NBA player

I like your style! No analysis, and just a strong negative comment about a current Blazer that was meant to troll posters into reacting to you!

No need to whine when you have a large pit in your basement.

I'm rooting for the guy. I hope he gets better but I have a feeling the things he needs can't be taught. He does have the size though.

Oh, I had a couple of go-rounds with BF, plenty for me. I have a strict 'no asshole' policy on a board where everybody has there own opinion. Have a good night.

That half court alley-oop from Paul to Griffin was on Leonard. Instead of getting back on defense to guard his man, he decided to stay in the backcourt and try to steal the ball from Chris Paul...

I don't see how anyone can particularly fault Leonard's defense in a game in which the Blazers played little to no defense all night.

Try adding my stupid posts and subtracting yours.

Okay, even though I wasn't watching him specifically, I saw him blow the rebound at least three times when he was the tallest guy there and right in the mix.

One specific memory is, he was in perfect position for where the missed shot went, he holds up his arms too early thinking he's gaining advantage, two Clippers swarm him and raise their arms nearby, following the ball down, pushing away his weak extended arms to get it...if he waited a second, then exploded his arms up to surprise them, they couldn't just put their hands next to his to block his hands, using tactile feel.

Ever seen Price is Right? You let the other person bid, then you bid one dollar higher. They let him place his hands, then just put theirs in front of his. The better his position, the more he defeats himself. He needs explosiveness.

Myers Leonard is a nice guy and will probably develop into a decent role player in the far, far, future but as of right now he's terrible.

I am not saying this to be mean spirited at all but he reminds me of Darko Milicic when he came into the league. He truly should have stayed in college and if not college then he should be playing down in the D-league because he's just that raw. He needs to be playing and not on the bench.

I just don't understand why teams don't put players into the D-League for long stretches, like, most of the season. Look at how Babbitt improved in Russia. He just needed playing time.

Or not.
