Where's MarAzul with his assist to miss stat...?

Of course, Dame continues to impress with his leadership and his commitment to the community, but I'm really impressed by how many of the guys were there for this - on a Monday morning in mid-June.

In addition to Dame, I also saw 7 other players in the video:

Quarterman
Shabazz
Chief
Mo
C.J.
Ed
Crabbe (I think).

Why does no one thank Raymond Felton for freeing a cupcake from the grasps of children?

Rod Strickland is the all time leader in that A/M data for the Blazers. Dave Twardzik is the single season leader in that measurement, in the Blazers Championship season.

You error in calling it MarAzul's Stat. It is a metadata calculated from stats and I believe it originated with Pete Newell although other coaches (Armory Gill) at the time also used it.
MarAzul learned from Coach Newell, but Coach Gill referenced it while chewing MarAzul's butt about shot selection after a freshman game.

Why? Can't trade really nice guys? Does that mean Meyers retires a Trailblazer? He's a super nice guy

Steve Blake was a nice guy (unless you tried to start something with him) and we traded him 3 times. Mason Plumlee was a nice guy and we traded him.

I'm sorry, what was your point?

umm, this thread is more like the OT. Rather chippy and snarky.

My point is that suggesting trading Dame should not be met with ridicule because he's a nice guy, as suggested in a previous post.

All career journeymen. Rarely do you find loyal, upper-echelon player that wants to be a part of a single franchise this day in age... Is he top-10 in this league? No. But he's clearly top-25, and I'd argue he's top-15.

No, but it should be met with ridicule because he's a nice guy, a great leader and a great player who is committed to being here and locked up for 4 more years. The latter are all well known and qualify as common knowledge to anyone who follows the team.

I agree with all of this. Not sure what your point is?

Trading Dame to trade Dame should be met with ridicule. Trading Dame because you think it may better our team, should not. Him being a great guy means nothing. Again, I think we all agree.

You're throwing out names of "nice guys". There's a difference between guys like Dame and Nards/Plums/etc. Your posts would make you seem like you didn't understand the difference. And if you do understand the difference, what's wrong with complimenting arguably the best player to wear a Blazers uni (at least during his prime)?

Dame isn't close to the best player to wear a Blazer uni in his prime.

As for Dame vs the journeymen, I know the difference. I was simply responding to a post that said "next time we see a trade Dame scenario, we need to be at that posters house with torches and pitchforks."

This statement was the first response to Dame being a nice guy.

My point was, who gives a fuck if he is a nice guy when it comes to making your team better. Then the soccer moms showed up.

Stephen A Smith.... Mediocre Man.

IT ALL MAKES SENSE :MARIS61:

MM, who was a better Blazer in their prime? Dame ain't close, apparently.

So tell us. There weren't many better players, regardless of prime. So tell me how Dame wasn't close.

Sabas? Damn, he'd have been amazing in his prime. But we got slipped leftovers.

Clyde? Meh, he was amazing but overrated.

Pippen? Yeah, a great player that was a great facilitator in his twilight with Portland.

Walton? Yeah, I guess. For a year. Injuries killed what could have been.

PUT THE CUPCAKE DOWN!

Looks like Felton is trying the look over there move so he can engulf that baked good

That full size cupcake look like a bitty bite in Failton's chubby, sausage-like fingers.

Most hated Blazer ever? He wasn't even part of the Jail Blazers era, more like the Fail Blazers era. Tough to top Qyntel Woods and the dog fighting, but no one mentions him any more. When the subject of despised former Blazers comes up, Fatty Felton seems to be universally loathed.

Clyde overrarted by everyone because he's on every to 50 player in NBA history list. Dame is not close to him yet. Walton was, as you say for a year, better than Dame has been because scoreboard.

I would slot him behind those two. Maybe behind Sheed and LA

When I say not close, I don't mean in ranking, I mean he's not close to Clyde, who was arguably the second best player in the world for a few years.

It's stupid to trade a player who is as good as he is and has given so much to the city. It makes keeping star players here harder. I don't think you're seeing the forest for the trees. There probably will never be a good reason to trade Dame.

Clyde was NOT overrated. He was only the best SG in the league next to Jordan. No Jordan, Clyde's the best.
