OT Active Shooters in Vegas

Guns should not be available to the public. Ban them all! There's absolutely no reason what so ever why anyone needs to own a gun.

Every time I'm in a Casino I see a businessman with those big suit bags. They're like 5 feet long and zippered.

One of those would probably do if he used one of those luggage carts.

Watch.....Since this happened, security teams will check those strange bags. Of course, people have to be forewarned they will be under extreme scrutiny & surveillance when they walk in or book rooms. Ray Rice never thought about cameras and this event should have been prevented if the casino's used their camera systems to their full capacity. All the movies and real life events depicting shooters should have had swat teams thinking outside the box. I bet a few guys on swat teams have sniper experience and their command ignored the warnings. Tall buildings surrounding an event location and all the disasters occurring in this troubled country should have had the supervisors thinking preventively. The most obvious case: The Texas book depository was ignored in November 1963. The Texas university tower shooter was another disaster from the 60's as well. Finally, I'll bet The Mandalay will get sued. The enormity of this is about to change everything.

You told me I was confused, I'm not confused.
You then went onto repeat things I said on page 2 in a fucking quote to me because you thought I was confused.

Frankly if you really want to get technical about guns, military grade imports pre 86 are easier to get than non imports.
But hey I'm confused right? It's not Denny at all...

I'm not going to keep repeating myself. Either accept the info I put on page 2 or kick rocks.

Sorry but if you're talking about automatic weapons and then you talk about AR-15s... well.... I'm going to think you don't know what you're talking about.

Now I could go back and do the same for the links I posted but at the end of the day AR's aren't completely banned from the US.

Justice is served. CBS firing that insensitive woman.

People say mental health services would have helped this man. But, it sounds like no one had a sense that this man even had any obvious mental health issues. I hope the investigation gives us some idea what set him off to plan and execute such a heinous act. Just a sad, sad situation. Fortunately my wife's family in Vegas seems to all be safe.

I'm tired of the gun debate. I own several guns, and it has never occurred to me to go on a mass killing spree. The problem is this country's mental health care.

Man this is a never ending debate....... but I could not disagree with you more. I respect you even though we've never met, that said, what if we just took the guns out of the equation? Could you answer me that sir? Nothing else, just that ONE question. I don't need to know HOW we do it, just want to know what you think of getting rid of them?

This thread reminds me of a John Wooden quote:

“Consider the rights of others before your own feelings, and the feelings of others before your own rights.” – John Wooden

The thing is how this affects people.

People die in car crashes at about 40000 per year I believe.

Mandalay Bay has probably helped drive more than 58 people to kill themselves because they gambled away all their money.

This shit killed a lot of people but with 350 million plus we as a whole wouldn't bat an eye. (Edit.. except for the sheer terror of it... that's why it hits home so hard)

I don't think there is an easy answer that doesn't involve Big Brother.

Like the world? Just the cops have them? Just the non racial cops? Just let deer, elk and other animals suffer from disease?

Sad but the truth is more complicated than that. If there had been no gun, than it would have been a bomb. Face it, freedom can be dangerous. The price we pay for free speech is that we may be offended by what others may say. The price we pay for freedom of religion is that we can be corrupted from within. When this all shakes out, odds are that this guy was influenced by ISIS.

I can understand this mentality. I type this not in a joking manner, but I don't worry about deer and elk. I worry about my children's being mowed down with bullets at school.
I don't do anything (anymore) that ever puts me in a situation to be worried about bad cops. I was a cop and know the game.
All mass shootings are done by people with different mind states and beliefs......they all don't fall into a certain profile. I know you are smart enough and know this. But deep down cant you see how the ONE and ONLY CONSTANT in these mass murders is the GUNS. Each and every shooting is based on some sort of hate or mental imbalance right? But the ONLY thing that is at each and every site of these killings is guns. I'm all for your right to bare arms, but what if we all just put em down..... I lost a few friends, four in fact when we were 16-19 and this was before I went in the military..... it always hurts me so much to think that if guns weren't available to these young, dumb kids, they would still be here. I'm willing to give up my rights to keepm people alive is all I'm saying. Wish others were as well.

I bet if you put it to a vote, most would take thier chances on dealing with bombs than guns.

Don't we already have a law prohibiting full auto guns? Did that help?

It was one hour and 12 minutes from the time the first shot was reported until the police broke into the guy's room.

Damn. He had an hour and 12 minutes to pick people off? Jesus! Well I guess it was because they couldn't figure out which room, but should it have taken that long?

Wow! Just Wow!
You wouldn't? If you knew all these people killed last night would be alive right now and all you had to do was give up our rights to own guns...... you wouldn't do that?
