OT Adam Silver hints at change to the playoff format....

Didn’t mean to have OT on there.

Celtics-Blazers would have a lot of air miles. The only other East-West pairing is Minny vs. Milwaukee, which would barely need bus miles.

I'd like to see this. It would be pretty cool. I like the Blazers chances in that one.

This is a horrible idea. Many of the new rule changes over the years, as well as the overuse of the 3-point shot have already dampened my enthusiasm for the game. I already hate the NBA as a league, I would still like to enjoy basketball but as it is the NBA is making that more and more difficult.

If you want to be the best you have to beat the best.

Whenever I have to hear bad news from somebody, I always avoid them like the plague and refuse to return their phone calls. I think the Blazers should take the same approach when thinking about facing the GS Warriors.

Not sure I'd like having to travel across country for a first round series. But we've done first round series in Texas so what's another 1000 miles? haha

Id like to see this happen

give it a chance, if its not good, then go back to how it was before

Yeah, the regular season schedule needs to be evened out, otherwise it messes up the cross-conference playoff seeding.
Yeah, it'd either need to be an 87-game season (3x every team) or 58-game season (2x every team). I don't see either happening, but would be in favor of 58 games.

Why not just allow two more teams to make the playoffs in each conference. 20 teams instead of 16.

All 30 teams make the playoffs. There are consolation rounds. The team that loses every round has to play in China next season.

Take the best 16 teams.

Most seasons there will be 8 teams in each conference. In these years you keep everything as it currently is.

Some years there will be 9 & 7. These years, you seed all the teams 1-7 based on conference. The last 2 teams in will be from the same conference, so 1 will 'flip' and play in the oposite bracket. The #1 seed with the best record would get the team with the worst record.

Yeah I see a major problem with seeding unless the schedule is evened out. If you kept the scheduling the way it is now, then teams in the worse conference would always benefit by having an easier schedule.

Although if you evened it out by playing 3 games against everyone (87 game regular season) then I would suggest that you have a few 2 game series at one location to cut down on travel. For example one year the Blazers play Boston in Boston twice in a row..........then the next year Boston plays Portland twice in a row in Portland.
