Golden State drafted Curry, Thompson, and Green without top 3 picks. They should be rewarded for that. If any other team were to do the same thing, an elite player would probably want to play there.

Kudos to GS. Teams should draft and trade better, cry less.

They also traded Monta Ellis to give their developed star Klay a chance to shine. People only hate them now because they signed Durant in the offseason.

Exactly! I had zero problem with the Warriors as a team when they went 73-9, I did not like them at all but like I said no problem with the way they set up everything. Adding Durant to 73 wins was a total bitch move! To be honest though, they probably did need him because without Durant I don't think the Warriors would've beaten the Cavs... not the way LeBron has been playing.

Still a bitch tho.

Most of it is actually a deep dive on why the Warriors have been so good the past three years. Very little of it has to do with Durant or whether they needed him (the beginning just notes that the Warriors actually didn't play that much better this year with him).

Warriors and the way they play are good for the game. I don't dislike them like I have previous teams and champions. I didn't particularly care for the Lakers of the 80's but they were fun to watch and when it came to a matchup with Boston. I always favored them mainly due to their brand of basketball. The Warriors are similar in the way they play and the professionalism they bring to the court. I think the more this Blazer team sees it the more they will become like it. They will have to if they ever wish to reach their goal. But the Lakers of 80's had an effect on how that early 90's Blazers team evolved. This Warrior team will eventually have same effect on this team. IMO.

I think unless the team is competing for a title he won't go much if any above the cap. The team right now is not there.

There is nothing even slightly unfair about the way Warriors built their team. I don't really like them because I get irritated by their bandwagon fans (their actual fans are top notch though, the ones who stuck by them when they were terrible) but Green aside I even like their current players - and even Draymond is a bit of a likeable idiot sometimes and you got to admire his fire. Curry, Thompson and Iguodala are all likeable actually. Green is actually possibly the only player on that roster who properly gets on your nerves and as I said, we would probably love him if he was one of us too. Before our series against them last season I actually liked that team.

They built their team through draft, and as someone pointed out, without a top 3 pick. They let their players develop and even made room for it by trading Ellis and then letting Lee go so Green could play more. They have great chemistry and a great coach, which lured Durant into coming there. It ruined the league somewhat and made it impossible competition for all other teams bar maybe Cavaliers, but it was all fair.

I don't believe the NBA is not concerned about super-teams. The talk has been for more "parity" for decades in all sports. But he can't do anything about it under the current rules.

Kind of funny though, how Lebron just lost a title due to the formation of a "superteam", he was really the one that started that.

I find Silver's fandom and transparency refreshing. He's easily the best commissioner in pro sports.
