My advice is to try some shot fakes when he has the ball right under the basket; slow it down a little bit there.

I don't know how many 8 RPG backups there have even been.

Not necessarily 'backups', but two BrianFromWA Favorites:

Faried: 7.7 RPG in 22mpg (12.2/36min)
Blair: 6.4RPG in 18mpg his rookie year, 7.0 in 21 mpg his 2nd year (12.7 and 11.7 per 36)

If I had any advice for Robinson and the coaching staff, it would be to simplify the game for him. Just have him focus on being a garbage man. Crash the boards and score on putbacks. Play solid low post D and box his man out. Our guards will find him in time. We don't need him to shoot 15 footers right now. We need him to compliment LA.

I love the energy and intensity with which he plays. We haven't had that combination in a while. I think he'll be loved on this team because he seems to be willing to do all the dirty work.

Or how about this for what is possible as a role/bench player? Played at least half the games. Had less than 10 starts to account for a few spot starts due to injury. Plays less than 30 minutes a game. And averaged at least 4.5 rpg which is what Robinson did last year. I would say that's pretty fair for defining a bench player.

OR do the same thing but change the minutes to what Robinson averaged per game last year, 15.1 mpg:

Only 16 players have done that.

Or even one step further. Played at least half the games (41) with zero starts, in 15.1 minutes or less and averaged at least 4.5 rpg. Robinson played 70 games but the rest is his stats.

FWIW they are about the same build 6'8" to 6'9" and about 240-250. Wingspan Evans 7'2.5" and Robinson 7'1". Standing reach Evans 8'11.5" and Robinson 8'10".

But Robinson is way more athletic. Max vert Evans 29.5" Robinson 35.5" and finally no step vert Evans 26" and Robinson 28.5".

Robinson has the ability and chance to be a very good to elite rebounder in this league. My hopes for the role he can bring to this team continue to grow and grow.

BTW Horford was only an inch taller than Robinson in his pre-draft measurements. Horford obviously has a better jumper and offensive game but its not hard to see Robinson working up to that. Horford has average just under 10 rpg for his career

Before Game 1, Blaming Houston and Sacramento, constantly repeating "It's a business"
After Game 1, same thing.
After Game 2, same thing again.
After Game 3, when he got 18 rebounds, "Houston made a good decision, I would do the same in their shoes.", "I've to forget about being a scorer right now"
Game 4, he gets 17 Rebounds and increases his SL average to 13.3.

I think he's really turned the corner, accepting his role, and will thrive in that role.

And there is no reason that accepting that role for now doesnt mean he cant work hard and develop to a scorer and offensive options as well. I hope he understands that just because he accepts that role now doenst mean he cant still be what he wanted down the road with hard work.

I don't know who has the most accurate numbers, but on draft express measurement history Robinson is 6'7.75" barefoot, and Evans is 6'7.5"--So Robinson's taller by a very small bit. Also Robinson's wing was 7'3.25" compared to 7'2.5" for Evans. Evans carries a bit more weight and does have a taller standing reach, but they are pretty close.

I was just looking at their profile pages on Draft Express but in the end they are waaaay more similar than I would have thought but with Robinson being more athletic.

Robinson's way ahead of Reggie in quickness, but doesn't know how to use it. The Kansas coach, Self, is a good recruiter but a bad teacher.

Way better than Hickson. TRob wants all the rebounds, offensive or defensive, and actually rotates to challenge shots.
Hickson only wanted offensive rebounds so he could have a chance to score.

I think the real question is: Where is TRob on the LMA dropped pass scale? Will he expect passes or get hit in the side of the head like Meyers? Can he catch a pass on the pick-and-roll like Hickson or will he have the LeMarcus Quikrete hands?

God this is going to be an exciting season!

Once we have Lillard and Aldridge getting so much attention; I think T Rob will have a field day. Yes I said it! I think T Rob and Aldridge will be playing significant minutes together.
