Aldridge could be the best PF in the NBA

If Aldridge can just play like he did last night. Not even statistically; but the aggressiveness. Rebounding, assists and blocking shots; while most of his scoring is in the paint. I like how we moved him to center. I think it forces him to rebound and defend more; while trying to establish a low post game. When he plays PF; we use him more like a perimeter type PF; which is a terrible idea, IMO.

And probably improve his game as well. I don't see any of the other centers really giving him fits on the defensive end. Aldridge can hold his own defending the post. I think the game has changed and players like Aldridge will be the new centers. I think we need more of that bruiser type PF; that can position defend. Aldridge is much better on help D and offensive rebounding then defensive boards. And off of misses; I can't see any center able to keep up with him on the fast break.

Also, most teams are putting their centers on him anyway. It's not like he isn't playing center on the offensive end.

Stotts needs to ditch the idea of him in the Nowitzki role and move on to him in the Duncan role. It's the one thing Nate got right.

I wish he would play center AND pissed off He seems to play well with either of those but together ....


and maybe work it out somehow that he plays Garnett on the Bulls every night somehow. lol

When he plays the center the likelihood of him getting posterized, and that leading to pissing him off, at least tripples

There was another Blazer PF that played better pissed off. And ironically their games were very similar. The only difference is Aldridge worked hard in the summers to improve his game. The other player didn't.

My comment is the same as the last 100 times this has been discussed and that LMA should play center........in the 4th Qtr. (Like last night and like Nate often had him do) Doing it all game long at the minutes he plays will not work IMO. Plus it depends on who the opposing center is.

But i agree the Blazer seem to play their best with LMA in the middle and 4 other shooters spaced out.

Pinwheel--I think that's probably the best solution for keeping Hickson in the fold, too.

Besides, it's nice to have a really big change of lineup to roll out in the 4th quarter. It kind of forces the other team's starters to respond to a major change up after they've already established their rhythm. It's probably one of the reasons the Spurs have been so effective for so many years with bringing Ginobili off the bench.
