OT Aldridge may not finish season with Spurs

I'd be annoyed if they landed a solid prospect for LMA.

SpursTalk are delusional in thier trade option brainstorming - Anthony Davis, or Brooklyn pick + Thomas.

He's on the wrong side of 30 and is clearly a second tier star.

"I talk to [coach Gregg Popovich] daily and he's always telling me that I'm doing great," Aldridge said Thursday on the Jim Rome Show.

"[I'm] trying to be a more of a leader. He's put me in positions where I can be more of a leader. As long as the guys here aren't saying bad things to me. All my teammates have said nothing but great things to me."

LOL, this guy is such a child.

I didn't realize that was an actual quote at first.

I'd love it if Pop just up and announced his retirement handing the reigns to Monty Williams. Lamarcus is faced with following Tim Duncan and he has to live in that shadow as a Spur.

Would be kinda funny but I can see OKC making a play, they have assets that the Spurs want and a Westbrook, Oladipo and LMA trio would make noise.

What are the spurs gonna package Parker and Aldridge....thatd suck for OKC cause Tony would probably just retire

It just cracks me up that Lamarcus didn't want to be part of Portland's youth movement or go through a rebuild and after a year in San Antonio...Duncan and West leave...Ginobli and Gasol are ancient and they are going to have to rebuild

He heard they were talking behind his back when he took his own flight home from Memphis in the playoffs. Meaniefaces.

I knew it was going on behind his back. His comment just made it sound like it they were talking shit to his face

Um, have you not followed Pop over the past 20 years?

This is NOT his M.O.

He doesn't go thru the media for anything. If anything, this is coming from another team or Aldridge's camp. And before dismissing Jabari Young's piece (which is warranted given his history), this whole story is originating from probably 2 of the most reliable NBA reporters: Zach Lowe and Jackie Macmullan. I wouldn't just sweep it under a rug.

Well. Trade him to us then. I'll take him.

He would be coming back to a team that is better than the team he left. And he's absolutely perfect in this offense.

I liked the part where LA was quoted saying that Pop tells him every day things he does well, while leaving out the fact that Aldridge had daily praise written into his contract.

Bitterness is such an ugly state but it's just plain pathetic to revel in it.

How does this sort of behavior play to current players and possible FAs? Most top athletes are spoiled prima-donnas. Boo-ing one of Portland's greats is just cutting off your nose to spite your face behavior. Show some class/perspective and move on Blazer fans.

class and perspective is given to those who show class and perspective.

Question: How many players become leaders at the age of 31? Seems like if you haven't been one by then, you're done.

and doesn't the first one sound like a Trump quote?

No he isn't.

He would be if he was OK being the 3rd option. But that is a pretty big if.
Even when he was still here I felt that was the ideal role for him. At least from our perspective.

You don't honestly think that comments on a fan message board have an impact on free agent signings, do you?

If it does, then they're not a good candidate for an NBA player. They'd need to seriously grow some thicker skin of shit we say bothers them.

Since wook was 100% convinced LaMarcus wasn't leaving in the first place, I think we can agree that he's not the best predictor in the world, so I'm pretty sure this would be a safe bet to make.

Yes Wookee, this would be a very safe bet for you to make. Bet big!
