Perkins is like 6'9. Im not sure he is a true center

One of the rubes already cited that last comment from.lma two Weeks ago. Looks like a rehash of old info

If we could somehow get a Lopez, Gortat, Noah or even Varejao to play alongside Aldridge; we would be wicked strong. The problem is can we?

As far as Perkins is concerned.... The dude is a strong mother fucker and plays a lot like Buck Williams did during our glory years with Drexler. If he doesn't have position and you beat him; he will make damn sure you don't get an "And 1" and knock you on your ass. Sometimes intimidation is more valuable than size.

Perkins is seriously on the decline. If you trade for him you aren't getting a long-term solution (or any kind of solution).

I asked Ben himself and he said it was a new article. Aldridge said the same thing....FWIW

You speak truth. I was just explaining the reason why a 6'9" center was considered a good center. Just like Barkley was considered a damn good PF, being only 6'4".

maybe LMA should man up, shut up, and play C

As much as I agree; I ask one question... Would Aldridge be better with a strong 7 footer that can block shots, rebound and defend? Or would he be better with a strong inside post PF like Zach, Millsap, or West?

A seven footer. Blocking shots is LMA's weakness, and rebounding to an extent. He's simply not a force in the paint.

It wasn't my idea, but someone brought up a good comparison of Al Jefferson and Pek.

Is Jefferson considered a true center? How's his defense inside the paint?

Why do you guys want LA to play center? That's putting a square peg into a round hole. Don't you guys want this team to get better?

It's because three years ago he played some center and also scored a ton of points doing it. Never mind that he hadn't been scouted like that up till that point, so his moves were fresh and undefendable.

I really don't want him to play center as much as I would love to have a intimidating 7 footer on this squad. But you and many in this forum agree that we much stick to the team at hand and try and build via draft and free-agency. With that said, I think Aldridge is a better center than Hickson by a lot.

we have a seven footer who is VERY raw but has potential, I say give him 25-30 minutes a night at least

To jump on the idea of not having LA a center, we don't want him having to bang with 300 pounders on a nightly basis. I think LA could make for a decent center, but he will wear down and be unhappy. Blazers need a true center for 20-30 minutes a night.

THEN PLAY MEYERS, if not now then when?

300 lbs centers? Did shaq come out of retirement?

Not a good protector

I always remembered many comparing Jefferson's D and scoring ability to Zach years ago. When we ever played them; I see the similarities. Jefferson is not even close to a good protector; but he rebounds like crazy, clogs the paint and won't let you back him down. Sometimes that's just as valuable.

As I mentioned before, Tyson Chandler would be perfect next to lma. Sucks he is off limits

Phoenix Suns center Jermaine O'Neal and general manager Lance Blanks engaged in a blistering, expletive-laced confrontation in the coach's office on Monday, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

"It was really bad," one Suns source said Tuesday afternoon.
