Bucks Sign Matthew Dellavedova To 4-Year, $39 Million Offer Sheet

https://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/2016/07/cavs_matthew_dellavedova.html

CLEVELAND, Ohio. – The Cleveland Cavaliers will orchestrate a sign-and-trade with the Milwaukee Bucks that will send restricted free agent guard Matthew Dellavedova to the division rival, league sources informed cleveland.com.

In return, Cleveland will receive a $4.8 million trade exception, cash and the rights to Albert Miralles, league sources told cleveland.com.

Cleveland.com reported earlier this week that the Cavaliers wouldn't match the Bucks' offer sheet of four years, $38.5 million.
They couldnt sign an offer sheet during the moritioum. The report is wrong. They agreed to terms & then decided to do a S&T instead.

I do not think we should match BUT would be nice to see Hark get a offer too in these 3 days to make it easier cause if Hark get's same type of deal i am not sure he is worth it either. Blazers are in a near impossible situation but you cannot keep both and gotta let one of the RFA walk in my opinion.

Is Rice joking or is he seriously comparing Crabbe to Harden? It's not only money, even if you're over the cap. The luxury tax exists and going over the "apron" (about $4m over the tax line) puts a lot of restrictions on you, like you lose the Bi-Annual Exception, you get a smaller Mid-Level Exception, you can't receive a player in a sign & trade, you don't get Gilbert Arenas Provision protections.

And Harden was already a star. Crabbe is an okay player. All sixth men aren't created equal.

Just because Crabbe is a bench player in Portland doesn't mean he's not a starter in some other teams eyes. I'm leaning towards matching. I think teams would trade for him. Even with that contract.

Match then trade him at the trade deadline for Cousins. We all know the kind of organization Sac is running down there.

Can't trade him until December 15th at the earliest and there's supposedly a no trade clause.

Can't be a full no-trade clause...that only happens if you're a 10/5 player or sign a 1-yr Qualifying Offer. It's a 1-year no-trade clause, and even if he agrees, he can't be traded to whoever signed him for 1 year.

I've given you shit before tunch. But this is some truth. I hate the contract, but I think we have to match.

I didn't want to pay that but shit we have no choice

Right now fully everybody back with Ezeli and Turner added I feel like we're much better

But if Crabbe leaves I feel like it's break even

OMG -- PA is a Billionaire owner cause he does not just throw money around like it grows on a damn tree. This has to be the DUMBEST argument i have seen yet for keeping Crabbe. OK lets say they do match -- what if PA decides can now Payroll has gone up so much maybe time to raise ticket prices and other things is Crabbe now worth it ? BTW i think good chance prices go up for tickets and other stuff anyway but let's suggest PA go even deeper in debt then pass it on to the fans.

Right with you. Without Crabbe, our supposed strength of outside shooting becomes a major weakness.

The last argument about having a pure shooter on roster is a good one but be prepared IF they match they almost have to let one IF not both other RFA walk. If you can live with that then cool but i sure as hell do not want to see these same fans watch Hark and/or Myers Walk and then start bitching and whining and calling for the head of Olshey.

If you match you need to keep him and trade someone else imo. He needs minutes and without it you certainly don't get many suitors for him with that trade kicker that makes his contract even worse to other teams.

He just got a bunch of money with not only the NBA's tv deal but with the Comcast deal as well.

He'll be fine.

I'd certainly be checking out options for trades in the next couple of days to get a cheaper gunner 2G.

OK who are you going to trade -- CJ ? Dame ? Turner ? (not possible ) -- S&T Hark but for what cause now with Ezeli unless its for a true PF like a Milsap / Monroe Makes ZERO sense and BTW still would not clear time for Crabbe-- Those are about the only options so who ???????

Can people please use that thing in between your ears before you post dumb shit.

I still say match. Play him for a year, trade him if we need to because of CJ's next contract and the LT.

He is our 6th man, a 2-way player.

He'll get over getting matched.

His contract will be movable.

We can match and sign our other RFAs. Their cap holds are ~$14M combined. Our salaries go up by any amounts over that. I don't believe we'd be over the LT threshold even signing both to ~$15M deals. Or maybe a tad over.

It's not the money, it's the repeat offender luxury tax penalties that are the killer.

I just can't let a young asset walk away for nothing. As has been previously stated, everyone thought that Kanter deal was a noose around the neck for OKC. Now? Not so much.

The Kings are the suckers to load that contract onto when the time is right. Trust me on this

Kanter is a big man and they make more if they have any talent yet makes only a little over 17 Mil a year. With trade kicker Crabbe would make over 20 mil per. Teams are all spending a lot of money. And most will be near luxury tax level. I don't see that an easy contract to move unless he becomes 6th man of the year.

He's not worth anywhere near that and it'd be madness to keep him at this price so he's as good as gone, wondering though whether we may match just to trade him in a couple of weeks.

Match. Great signing Ezeli today. Lock up Mo and Meyers too. We've got a team that can compete. We're much deeper than the Warriors.
