Should we match Brooklyn's offer sheet for Allen Crabbe?

Meh.....I don't want him to be miserable here. If he's not happy being on the bench with any kind of money, then he needs to go somewhere where he's happy.
My thinking too. Match, unless he's going to be disgruntled.

OMG -- Do you people NOT get it -- CJ and Mason are up next year you have to plan in advance -- not just blow everything this year -- JUST CAUSE you can. Let me repeat thank goodness none of you work for the Blazers and influence the decisions that go on there. I will concede one fact this is where Turners deal kind of sucks because while i like Turner i believe he could have been gotten for a little cheaper like 4 for 60 to 65.

Cross that bridge when we get there. In the mean time, our team is better.

I just can't let a young asset walk away for nothing. As has been previously stated, everyone thought that Kanter deal was a noose around the neck for OKC. Now? Not so much.

The Kings are the suckers to load that contract onto when the time is right. Trust me on this

OKC was lucky the new TV deal came along this year. The cap isn't going to have this huge of a raise in it again in the next few years.

Team is better but i am about to Checkmate this discussion -- Can you honestly say barring injuries this team is better then the Warriors ???

ANSWER - NO --

Everything will be okay. It will.

I get what you're saying.

I can relate to our fan base with the 49ers. Yes, Trent Baalke is a terrible GM, and NOBODY likes this guy and we ALL want him to leave (unless you're one of those morons who tries to justify his "Value" signings....).

However....I have yet to see or meet one fan who could do a better job than him as GM. Not one. If we hired a fan to run that team, we'd be out of the NFL in a year, and we'd have NO money.

So what? We should at least try, and accrue the most assets we can.

The LT will also be ~$10M more next year, so that takes a big bite out of CJ's raise.

There's absolutely no benefit to losing Crabbe for nothing and weakening the team and future flexibility.

Do YOU not get it? Why should we be punished for drafting good players? Crabbe was a good pick and he turned out great. Now we can't have him anymore? We can only keep players if they're just okay and thus don't cost much? I'm glad you don't work for the Blazers. Neil will handle this the right way.

He had 6 freaking teams after him including the Knicks. Someone would have out bid us if we tried to low ball him.
That would have been stupid, assuming we really wanted him......which it is clear that Neil and Terry did.

I am done being one of the only sane fans tonight -- maybe after you think about it more you will realize i am right and what the hell maybe i will come to your side ( not likely ) but who knows. I wish you all a goodnight and cya tomorrow.

The CBA makes the roster and salaries a sort of jigsaw puzzle. You get pieces that fit, under the tax threshold. Ideally you get to $1 under.

We do the same thing next year.

In the meantime, we have the trade deadline mid season and all of the following season to get under the LT. Or pay it, which is an option.

You talk about how you are glad that we are not Blazer employees, however you make claims like this which are unjustified by anyone outside of league management. Neil seems pretty solid in his contract decisions so far (Aminu, Davis, and Ezeli all signed to 'surprisingly' low contracts) which leads me to believe that your statement is incorrect. I choose to believe that Olshey paid exactly what it took to get Turner to Portland.

Crabbe is not worth that money. He's massively over-rated by Blazers fans.
We should only match if we intend to use him as an asset.

he will be....either that or a trade asset...either way, match.

Match and look to trade him. Teams LOVE the type of player Crabbe is and that looks like a horrible contract now but doesn't 18m a year when the cap is over 100m is not an insane contract for a quality starter which with the amount of teams reportedly after Crabbe this year doesn't make that seem like a ridiculous assumption.

Crabbe was gonna get paid either way, I just find it ridiculous he wants to be a starter and if not, he doesn't wanna be here. If I recall at the exit interview he made it sound like he wanted to be here. Sounds like an ego problem he developed over a season of good play. I don't know. If he doesn't wanna play here, honestly fuck that dude. Go play in Brooklyn then and don't make it anywhere on a shitty team

Anyone know how soon the Blazers can trade Crabbe if they match? Is it immediately or is there a waiting period?
