I was talking to a guy who operates a big crane downtown Denver. I guess the tweakers there will free-climb an entire crane boom in the middle of the night, all the way to the top, severing the main wire harness (very large, 8 or 10 inches in diameter) into manageable 1 or 2 foot chunks. They then drop these chunks down through the center of the boom to the ground. Here, the B crew gets to work peeling the plastic insulation off of the chunks of wire like squirrels, leaving only piles of plastic peelings before they escape into the night.
