MIN will give up neither of those things in that deal. Maybe a lotto protected 2014 pick could be on the table, but Minnesota could get Pau Gasol at that price.

Now your avatar makes sense.

He's not built for defense, and he's not good enough (a la Barkley) to overlook that. He is the forward version of Bayless (albeit even less efficient) - can put up stats but isn't really useful to a winning team. I bet you he never amounts to more than a journeyman who bounces around bad teams. The Wolves will give up on him very shortly. They've already been shopping him for anything and everything and getting rebuffed at every turn.

You're gullible if you think they're dealing the 2nd overall pick for "anything and everything" but everybody is turning them down.

With all the Wolves fans here, we're truly flattered you think this highly of one of our Blazers.

But I'd suggest you shift your attention to Brandon Rush or Matt Barnes.

Sounds like Neil said at the PC that Hibbert is their only FA they really want. If they don't get him then there's really no "plan b", as far as adding a FA for the future. Hibbert is it.

Plan B is turning to uneven trades.

You are dreaming and you are being a greedy fan....You don't send a full crew out to woo Batum and then verbally offer him a deal and then desperately try and work out a S&T that sticks it to the team you are trying to get him from....

They would gladly give up some non essential assets to get Batum...The problem is convincing POR to do it, which they have been trying to do for awhile now to no avail....The hope is that with Hibebrt now gone and nothing else on the hoprizon that Olshey and particularly Allen come to thier senses, let go of the emotion and make a deal...

A re-do of that draft and he's not a lotto pick.

HAHAHA who goes before him? Nolan Smith? Penis Cancer? Jimmer?

Faried and Leonard would be up there, NO NO NO way you could redraft that year and not put Derrick Williams in the top 5 without looking completely retarded.

It's only been one year with no offseason and hardly any practice. You're overestimating the panic here. Alot.

I disagree, what is he 21? He had some ups and downs last year as a rookie, but he has more potential than you give him credit for...

Agree to disagree.

The potential is there (athleticism) but until he finds a position, he's going to be this 12PER guy for the foreseeable future.

There's your problem. You don't think Derrick Williams is an essential trade asset. He's not gonna be a giveaway.

MN is going hard after Batum cause they think they can make an offer we can't match. If they price goes too high and MN has to trade all their trade assets and still pay the guy a bloated contract they'd rather go after Iggy.

A little is an understatement.

Rain, why did you send me that KFAN link? ...a little weird.

I could see Faried, Leonard, Kyrie Irving, Brandon Knight, Kemba Walker, Marshon Brooks, Klay Thompson, Isaiah Thomas ... there's eight I wouldn't call retarded.

What's this "we" stuff?

It's pretty desperate to pretend to be a Blazer fan to sway opinion on Batum.

Not.

Swayed.

Looking at centers, factoring in Leonard, take your pick:

-Varejao
-Gortat
-Noah*

The only player in the league I can see fitting the bill for someone that we could acquire in a lop sided trade is Iggy. Or we could do something really extreme and go after Carmelo Anthony.

I don't know if those Rajon Rondo rumors had any merit, but how about, how about Lillard, re-signed Batum, and a 1st for Rajon Rondo?

I'd keep an eye on Cleveland. Neil is close to their GM and talked before the draft.

Varejao would be the only possible option there, right? And if we did a lopsided trade, Cleveland's overall team salary would be at about 25 million dollars.

Jason Quick ‏@jwquick
Possible C targets (cheap, capable and not long term): Pachulia, Patterson, Maxiell ($5 mil); Mozgov ($3.1 mil) and Pekovic ($4.3 mil)

So Blazers will go trade route to get center who can start, but who doesn't need to hog all of the developmental playing time of M. Leonard

Jason Quick ‏@jwquick

Possible centers who fit that bill: Zaza Pachulia (1 yr. $5 mil) and ATL looking to shed salary; HOU Patrick Patterson ($2 mil) (more)

Underwhelming names.

That list is a joke. Pekovic is not available at all.
