Your stranded on a desert island. You've got an mp3 player than can store the life's work of 10 bands. You have no shortage of headphones and a solar charger.

What top 10 keep you company the rest of your life?

To kick this off...

RUSH
Led Zeppelin
Metallica
Guns N Roses
Alice In Chains
Depeche Mode
Fleetwood Mac
Tom Petty
Juno Reactor. Trance junkie
Disturbed/Godsmack. Coin flip

Close was: Police, RHCP, Floyd, Ozzie, Van Halen, Who, Dire Straights, Clapton, Gordon Lightfoot, Rammstein

Give me some time, and this old mind, a day or 2, to think on this challenge. Processing near half a century, will take some time....LOL...

Alot of archives of mental data stored in closets within closets, full of Files, mental files.

This is a thinking man's thread. Take your time.

Beatles
Skyliners
Earls
Dean Martin
Dion & the Belmonts
Duprees
Tony Bennett
Jerry Vale
Four Seasons
Four tops

There's really just to many to choose from but I think I'd go with those 10. Yes I know I'm an oldie freak.

In no particular order;

Beatles
Zepplin
Floyd
Heart
Doobies
Eagles
Lennon
Zappa
Nicolette Larson

...and anything produced by "Q".

Beatles
Rolling Stones
Gram Parsons
Jackson Browne
Neil Young
Zappa
Sara MacLachlan
Mozart***
Daniel Lanois
Pearl Jam

*** Deleted Bob Dylan for the greatest Composer to ever breathe on earth. MOZART.
Mozart is proof Heaven's music came from above- the childhood prodigy unlike any other, who was playing Before Kings and Queen's at the age of 6 yrs old.

subject to revision, due to spontaneous combustion....!!!

Well, if this is forever with ONLY 10 CHOICES, I'd have to have some diversity.

Tchaikovsky
Beach Boys
James Brown (His band was fabulous)
Doors
Jethro Tull
Moody Blues
Led Zepellin
*Louis Prima

I kinda like to hear some Patsy Cline (amoung other female singers) once in a while.....but let it be noted,
I'm not bringing her with me.

You're not getting my man-card.

Besides, hearing a nice female voice could make things worse on that island...
...know what I mean?

lol

Patsy Cline was terrific but if I'm going with female sounds it would first be Leslie Gore & then Brenda Lee.

Eye candy sure, but if I'm picking a chick, it would probably be either Jewel, Faith Hill, Lzzy Hale, or Gwen Stefano...

Faith Hill is gorgeous. Hell someone should start a thread listing the HOTTEST all time female singers.

You can't revoke man cards with U2 and Bon Jovi on your island.

Not that I need to defend myself, but I'm Irish hence the U2 and from NJ... never was a bog fan of the Boss and Bon Jovi is closer to my generation...

Oh darn it, I was going to say Emmylou Harris, here music in the 70s through the 80s was the stuff only Angels voices sound like.

Yep, I do see how a girls voice could muster up a worse case scenario on an Island. But then, Sara has always lured me with her music. Nanci Griffith too.

BTW- I did use to own every Patsy Cline LP, and most of Billie Holidays' too. Got to see most classic C&Western Bands, in the Luzianna Hayride in the 60s. Any one who was someone important, George Jones, Merle Haggard, Ray Price, even Jim Reeves, Just 3 weeks before his plane crashed. A sweet crooners voice. Back when C&W was real classic and not reconfigured POP, rhinestone BS.

However I'm sticking with my guns, if I can't have Sara's music, I'd take Sara herself. well maybe not, I am a happily married man for 33 yrs now. I just love her sweet voice, it puts me in peace.

When we buried my brother, him and I both had made music lists of tunes we thought proper at our funerals. The #1 first song was Jackson Browne's For a Dancer, followed by Angel and I Love You, off of Sara's Surfacing CD. Unfortunately I never thought I would see him go before me.....!
