I do think it's time the young guys get the keys. If we're losing games, player progression is all I care to see in these games from the main young core. Hopefully we get a good pick and this is all for something, lol.

I agree with you but I don't know what the lol is about because I'm not laughing. Hopefully all of these losses are for something and hopefully we stop it with this ludicrous two timeline bullshit... no joke.

Most “blazers fans” bandwagoners were not truly built for this. It’s trenches, it’s tanking for now. Buckle up or fade out

I'm a bandwagon fan when the team stopped caring. I actually care about my time.

When they care again, I will. Much more important things with my time than watching boring basketball with no upside.

I hear you. I do. I feel like I put more effort into the game threads then the Blazers players do in the actual game. And, they get paid millions.

Still, I watch every game no matter what. Just a diehard that way.

The highs wouldn’t be the same without the lows. Realistically this isn’t anything new for Blazer fans. I just hope we come back from this and emerge better than before.

You don’t get to give up on today and cheer tomorrow.

as a person who has never seen a team they root for win a championship in their life time, you got to keep a sense of humor about these things. We can trade all the vets and lose out the rest of our games, end up with the worst record and end up with the 5th pick. People are to hyperbolic with their sports fandom, their is no 1 right way to do things because non of it is guaranteed no matter what you do. I have also had a lot of real life stuff happen this year so being doom and gloom about the Blazers being crappy for a couple seasons isn't something I'm stressing about.... specially after living through those Telfair years.

When have the Blazers tanked 4 years in a row?

Fans can root however they want, if they want to give up this season and root when the teams better that's fine. If you want to root differently that's your choice.

Your post made me curious so I looked it up. We were a 50 win team, then .500 one season, then just two years with heavy losses (Telfair years) then had Brandon Roy ROY season the next year.

So no we never had 4 years of tanking like we have right now, we only had 2. Worst of all is we can't see any light at the end of the tunnel yet, so no telling how long this might continue.

Bro, aren't you a Mariners fan? Hard to think that ownership cares that much about winning.

I'll tell you what, as a High Schooler at the time, it sure felt like a lot longer, lol. Got to go to a lot of super cheap games though so that was fun.

No die hard fan checks out when the goin gets tough. That is what a fair weather fan is.
Fair weather fans claiming they are diehards while checking out is ridiculous..

Nobody posting here after 4 years of tanking is a fair weather fan.....

Some might not want to watch the games because the product is shit. You can take that up with Blazers management, and not judge other fans.

those of us who are left, are gluttons for punishment. we can't quit them. we are lost causes, that will cry when (if) they ever win a title.

42 posts and no “Bye Felicia”? What’s wrong with this place?
I don't know MM threw out the very similar don't let the door hit you where the good lord split you or whatever.

I think we all feel like anybody that wants to stop being a fan of our team because of this mismanagement might not have been a fan of our team during the Nash/Patterson era.

A lot of immaturity and hostility started bubbling up in here after there was ample intelligent posts where users understood and agreed with my process/position.

I never said I have given up being a fan. And to you holier-than-thou, try-hard trolls: you don't know what type of fan I am, the history I have with the team, the interactions I have had with players, conversations, correspondence, mementos and appreciation given to me by certain legends, etc..

I just said I am done watching avidly this year (obviously until things change) and will enjoy watching another team I can invest my time and interest in, such as the Knicks. I will still follow the news regarding the team, but don't enjoy watching a team that plays without ambition, determination and the drive to win. We saw them play with these things for a few games and now we see what it's like in contrast. No thanks. There is no point. It's like watching fake wrestling. It's like watching pre-season games or the all-star game where it doesn't matter and no player really cares.

You and I have a different definition of what a fan is. But I guess a “fair weather fan” is technically a fan?

Oh please. but other fans can dig into and try to make us feel guilty for still supporting the team???
Fuck that.

Typical fair weather fans… belittle season ticket holders and loyal fans but cant take the heat when the judgment is reversed.

Typical…those folks can go pound sand. They aren't real fans.

You guys acting like this is nothing and he can just hit the road don’t seem to get exactly how important this season is? They better hit gold in the lottery. I actually talk the regular fans. The everyday fan out here on the streets. This team sucks and they all know it. Sure they will come back IF they turn it around but ain’t nobody sitting through this garbage day in and day out that isn’t a very hardcore fan or making their living off the team.

Yes we have a different idea of what a fan is. I think a fan is someone that roots for the team. They want to watch them succeed eventually - either immediately, short term, or long term.

That doesn't mean a fan has to watch every game when the team is horrible and has zero chance to compete for anything. With this roster the Blazers were effectively eliminated from the playoffs this season at game 1. I'll tune in sometimes and tune out other times and thats just a personal choice of how much of these crappy performance of the Blazers each fan wants to watch. If you want to watch every game and consider yourself a better fan then you do you. Some might argue your actually hurting the team by supporting poor management. Ultimately its all a personal choice of how we want to be fans.

When did I say that? I've always said each fan can support the team however they want.

Can't take heat? Who is the fan that cares if you have some delusional judgement. I care about yours as much as someone on the street yelling at clouds. I might point out where I believe your judgements are wrong, just as I point out to the same to people who judge those rooting for wins.

Typical…those folks can go pound sand. They aren't real fans.
Enjoy your elitist attitutde and that your a better fan than others. Not sure what you expect to get out of that. I guess if the team wins you'll try to run around and gloat about how you were watching every game for a bunch of trash Blazers teams. Good for you. Nobody else will care.

Blazer management is responsible for this mess. They have created a culture of losing by intentionally throwing games just to get a higher draft pick. This is what happens when you try to game the system year after year: it infects everyone and everything in the organization.

ha! I basically say the same thing all the time during rough times... no valleys means no peaks & who wants to live in Nebraska?

As far as watching this not very good 2024-25 team, I'm trying to stay in the moment to see flashes of development. Good plays, possible progression. The losses are expected.

STOMP

First, when did I say YOU said anything???

you quoted me when i wasn't necessarily even referring to you. You are not the only other person here you know.

Wonder why you are taking what I said so personal?

but now you are gonna say I have an elitist attitude for simply pushing back? Maybe you should go back and reread some posts before you come at me.
Maybe you should ask why someone else here makes fun of season ticket holders?
Maybe you should see the big picture around here before you single me out??? I never singled you out or was even referring to you.

Ffs….

I agree with you. The current team is unwatchable.
