The Inspector General shall report immediately to the Director whenever the Inspector General becomes aware of particularly serious or flagrant problems, abuses, or deficiencies relating to programs and activities within the responsibility and authority of the Director of National Intelligence.
(B) The Director shall transmit to the congressional intelligence committees each report under subparagraph (A) within 7 calendar days of receipt of such report, together with such comments as the Director considers appropriate.
Something wrong with this law
@barfo. Since the DNI and the IG both work for the chief executive, the only source of Executive power in the US under the Constitution, it is not logical to have a law requiring a one employee report to congress where the Chief executive can only be exercising his lawful duties.
It just can't be. The DNI has no responsibility or authority that he does not inherit directly from the President. So they can not be his alone.
