Saw The D at the Hard Rock in Orlando on Monday in a random moment of serendipity. One of my clients wanted to go and buy a Hard Rock shirt for their husband, and I opened a door by the shop and walked right into the midst of a Tenacious D show.

This was the song they sang for their encore. I can't get it out of my head. Totally acoustic, and completely awesome. Jack Black is a better musician than actor, IMO. Those of S2 on FB with me have seen the live video I recorded.

Mirrors is getting some serious hype right now. Pretty weak album after his 6yr break, but this hype is warranted.

Good song, a great tribute video.

I'm going to have to give some love to a fellow Portland band for this. Their newest album is killing me!

I always enjoys me some hot, smokin' Candy Dulfer.

Here's a somewhat hotter version performed in her hometown of Amsterdam..

Wow I thought these guys quit performing.

The only band from the 2000's worth a damn... they were great in the 80's/90's and are hard to listen to now, but their prime in the early 2000's must have been sent from God... just perfect rock'n'roll, even for two "non-single tracks," these songs send me to another place mentally -

Huey Lewis & the News - The Power of Love

Skip to 2:14 if you must but the beginning is worth watching even without the song playing yet.

KingSpeed, fast forward to 1:53, you'll love that part ;)

So crazy that they have nearly 200 million views on youtube just for that video. And that they went #1 while being independent.

I think I posted this in that other music thread, but figured it was a good time to post again. Daptone Records is THE spot right now for great soul music. The 2 big tickets are Charles Bradley and Sharon Jones. Charles Bradley's 2nd album comes out next week. I have the vinyl preordered, but I'll be in Kentucky next week so I won't be able to listen for another week. He's going on tour soon, but so far only East Coast, South and European dates are listed.
