What about Turner and Trent to Minnesota for Dieng and #11? Shit I’d probably look to do something like that regardless of AD.
Yup.They won’t give us #11 to get out of a year of Dieng’s deal.
Which makes no sense for them either.Yup.
If we want 11 it would have to be Turner, Moe, and 25 for Wiggins and 11
Unless they plan on blowing it up again. Which is probably the right move to do. KAT, RoCo, Saric, and Okogie can be built on but it will take a couple years more to mesh. Getting out from under Wiggins contract would be a big relief.Which makes no sense for them either.
If they planned on blowing it up, why would they trade a lottery pick to dump salary?Unless they plan on blowing it up again. Which is probably the right move to do. Cause it’s a lot of salary and a lot of years lol plus it’s really only moving down 14 spots in a very top heavy draft. If they planned on blowing it up, why would they trade a lottery pick to dump salary?
11 is still much better than 25. Wiggins is still young so it makes no sense to get out from under his salary because it wont help them make a move in the next 3 years thatll make up the value taken to shed Wiggins contract.Cause it’s a lot of salary and a lot of years lol plus it’s really only moving down 14 spots in a very top heavy draft.
Aren’t the Pups notoriously cheap though? Why spend time in the tax when they aren’t close to playoff contention if they’re cheapskates?11 is still much better than 25. So you want one guy who appears to be overhyped, and two guys that appear to have pretty low ceilings? I mean I guess their 1st rounder next year will likely be another lottery pick so there's that. At least CJ like it or not is a sort of a known quantity and is borderline all-star level. If I was the Pelicans GM I think I would prefer RJ Barrett, Ntilikina, Knox and 2020 1st pick just because I don't believe they can gain anything from CJ, but maybe they think they can contend for playoffs somehow.
I truly don't think it's far fetched. CJ and Zach have both improved their value.
CJ and Jrue isn't as good as Dame and CJ but it would immediately give the pels a top 5ish backcourt. With Zion coming in if he's ready to go his sophomore year they could be really dangerous. It's a fair deal. I think the value of CJ is also you gain an immediate leader on the floor and the clubhouse. Not sure how much the Pels value that aspect, but him and Jrue would be a pretty sick duo.

Pels are in a sort of bad situation in that they won't get equal value in return for AD because of his contract situation.
I respect your opinion but I think CJ would be an absolute monster next to Jrue. I thought Knox had a chance to be good but watching him last year he had every oppurtunity to do something and just never came through. I understand he's young and all those guys are young, but if I was the Pels and I wanted to be in the playoff mix in the near future I think CJ / Jrue and Zion would get them closer, than a handful of young guys and Jrue.I think Ntilikina was treated really badly and I also Knox can develop into a good player. Pelicans also need wings so Barrett and Knox can be their wings of the future or something. Ntilikina is one year younger than Zach while Knox is 2 years younger. And there is also Dennis Smith that they can offer. In any case I would prefer them over CJ. The reason I would get CJ is to trade him in another deal. I see him useless for the Pels right now.

Didn't you see the picture above with AD and Dame hugging after a game? It means he's coming. How is this even a thread?
And yet here we are talking about trading a guy who lead us to a Round 2 win, along with a VERY promising two-way PF on a rookie contract for him...Even with Davis they hardly made the playoffs last 4 seasons.
I believe the report was that Griffin wanted to get into the playoff mix with an established player, a young player and picks. I think that's why people jumped to Portland as an option as they could give those things although their picks aren't expected to be very high.Sure to get into playoff mix CJ is far more valuable. I just don't see why they should go for that goal. It's not that they can really achieve much right now. Even with Davis they hardly made the playoffs last 4 seasons.
People look at the Raptors with Kawhi and think maybe we could do that if we took that kind of risk too. They gave up a guy who had led them with mild post-season success, and a young big. They even got Danny Green in the process of all that. And yet here we are talking about trading a guy who lead us to a Round 2 win, along with a VERY promising two-way PF on a rookie contract for him...
