Telfair was listed as honorable mention, sure, outside of the top 25. That's awesome (although, again, that was written 22 years after he was drafted, so I don't take it as anything more than one dude's opinion). But he wasn't even the best player in his draft class on that list (Dwight Howard was)... that at one point when he was, like, 15, he was considered a great prospect is wonderful. As he got older he clearly capped out as a borderline lottery pick.Telfair was regarded as either #1 or #2 (behind LEBRON JAMES) in his high school class. And that article has him listed as "honorable mention" greatest high school prospect OF ALL TIME. Now, of course he didn't play in the G-League, but having seen Jalen Green, you'll forgive me if I don't get all excited at somebody who doesn't even shoot that great in the G-League.
And Jalen Green averaged 10.4 ppg in his one year in the G League and had a 1:1 assist:TO ratio... Scoot averaged over 14 and 16 in his two years and was 2:1 this past year... and Henderson was a year younger his first year in the G League. In spite of all of this, Green went #2 in the draft, and it just reinforces that Scoop deserves the props he's getting.
