just waiting for the Ducks to shit the bed against a team that should beat. Happens every year.

Who do you think it happens against? Arizona, OSU, and USC are the only ones left with a prayer IMO.

The AP got it right IMO. Ducks should be ranked higher than Boise St.
Go Beavers!

Cupcake U? You mean the same team that has beat the Duckies (and the beavers) two times in the last 4 years?

4 decent teams played in 4 years ;) during their huge ass home winning streak they have played a whopping 2 ranked teams. The Ducks last year, and OSU a couple weaks ago.

Rich Brooks was the firestarter, coaching Oregon out of the laugh factory. Mike Bellotti, the patriarch, got it to the next level before handing off the program to a former I-AA offensive coordinator (Kelly).

another illustration. I always thought as Rich Brooks as the one who laid the foundation, Bellotti the one who built the house, and Chip Kelly is now the guy who is gonna live in the house and decorate it with Trophies :p

Is it true that the Ducks vs WSU game isnt on TV this weekend?

yep WSU didnt wanna move the kickoff with the lame TV Contract. Probably didnt want to be slaughtered on TV at home on Alumni weekend. :dunno:

And probably hoping that the game not being on TV will boost ticket sales. I'm sure you'll have a few hundred more Duck fans make the trip to see the game than there normally would be.

Duck Fans with big heads. Have you learned NOTHING from history? How many 4-0, 5-0, 6-0 starts do you have to see year after year and then the Ducks and their fans walk into some game thinking their shit doesn't stink, and then they fuck it all up by mailing in a half-ass effort and getting beat by some team that SUPPOSEDLY doesn't belong on the same field as them. Until the Ducks make it to at least the Civil War undefeated, I'm hedging my bets. Yes I'm rooting for them HARDCORE, but as BLAZER FANS SHOULD KNOW... you don't count your chickens before the eggs hatch.

I expect the Wazzu game to be closer than anyone thinks because the Ducks start reading their own hype clippings.

I have to NOT find out the score til CSN replays it at 11PM!

Being how its the first time since 2002 they have been 5-0 I dont know how much stock to put into it. If this was a Bellotti coached team I would be a little more concerned about that. I'm not saying that the Ducks are guaranteed to go undefeated either, thats why I mentioned the teams left that have a chance against them.

they are doing a replay also at 6:30 I think.

I can't believe I'm going to defend the Ducks here. Vomit.

History does not in any way dictate how the Ducks are going to finish the season. This is only Kelly's 2nd season as HC. His first season he took the team to the Rose Bowl. This years team is much better, IMO. And he's a great coach. And don't forget, if it wasn't for Dixon's injury a couple years back, the Ducks could have easily played for a National Championship. That "collapse" had to do with a major injury to the focal point of their offense. Not a mental collapse or the team believing their own hype.

Will it be difficult for the Ducks to run the table? Hell yes. The PAC 10 is rough. But I try to figure out who will beat them, and I draw a blank. The Ducks will have to beat themselves or sustain another major injury to not run the table. Should be interesting. I'm afraid that the closer they get to running the table, the more I will have to root for them. The PAC 10 needs it.

you my friend have grown a lot this football season! :p

As a longtime Duck, Blazer.... hell, ANY Oregon sports team fan, I heartly embrace my snakebitten attitude and will hold back from REALLY REALLY believing a team from this state in a major league sport (sorry, college baseball or women's college soccer) can put aside the propensity to choke or have karma get in the way of the promised land.

The last time I did that was after Rasheed Wallace's screaming dunk in Shaq's face at about 1 minute into the 4th quarter of the 2000 WCF Game 7, and we all know how that turned out.

No offense to you, I know you were just referencing the term "cupcake" in a high quality program like BSU that has proved it is a top-25 school year after year.

But dovetailing on this whole "Boise State beat Oregon in the last two years" thing, is that not the most assinine argument ever? I'm surprised BSU fan can't at least come up with some type of legitimate response to being a good program other than comparing individual results from completely different rosters in the past.

I mean someone implying that BSU having beat Oregon in the past two years means anything to this year is like someone saying Utah has beaten Alabama every time they played in the last two years and thus should be considered better than Alabama. How stupid does it sound to compare completely different rosters and one past result that could have been a product of any multitude of factors that led to the final score.

OK. I'm done. I just can't stand people that think it's time to move up from the kids table to the big people's table, then spout off crap about prior years teams.

Actually, what happened last season may well have been a case of the team believing their own hype. The Duck team that beat USC would have won the Rose Bowl.

They lost to Stanford after the SC game, right? You may be right. I just don't see this particular team doing that. I half hope I'm very, very wrong. I do know the Ducks will score 120 pts on my Huskies, and they'll score 100 pts on SC.

Injured quarterbacks will turn any teams season around.

You act like going undefeated in a season is a piece of cake. lol

You want to make a little wager that Oregon covers the 35 point spread?
