He basically said the Lakers DON'T want Portland in the first round. That the Lakers can't just "flip the switch". That they can play at a high level in spurts, but can't sustain it. He said Kobe and Fisher have both lost a lot due to their age.
He also said the Spurs DON'T want the Blazers in the first round.
BNM
So who actually wants us in the first round then? Well to bad for the teams that don't want us, they'll get us!
Didn't hear it firsthand though.
He said that if we meet the Lakers in the first round, it would be a toss-up series.
In October, my thought was "you gotta win a series".
When Oden was officially out, the thought was "that sucks, but you gotta win a series"
When Roy went down, the thought was "that super-sucks, but you gotta win a series"
With Crash coming on board the thought was "holy cow, we might win a series!"
After seeing the last 2 months, it's "There's no one in the West that I'm scared of. Finals, baby!"
that's impossible since the Lakers are guaranteed 2nd or 3rd seed. If we meet em, then it's first or second round. That's good, but I don't think we'd play them until the Western Conference finals! Wouldn't that be incredible!

I think I should start a thread. My garbageman says we'll beat the Lakers.

Barkley was only a garbageman at the end of his NBA career. He was able to create his own shot pretty well most of his career.
I don't understand Barkley's analysis. So what if we put LA at the five? They move Gasol to the five, put Odom at the four and keep Artest at the three. I think we're a bit overrated right now.
