Apparently, Barkley just said we'll beat the Lakers in the playoffs.

That's good, but I don't think we'd play them until the Western Conference finals! Wouldn't that be incredible!

He basically said the Lakers DON'T want Portland in the first round. That the Lakers can't just "flip the switch". That they can play at a high level in spurts, but can't sustain it. He said Kobe and Fisher have both lost a lot due to their age.

He also said the Spurs DON'T want the Blazers in the first round.

So who actually wants us in the first round then? Well to bad for the teams that don't want us, they'll get us!

It's not the teams that say they don't want us. It's the people in the media that say it.

I think Sacramento wants us in the first round.

Barkley said that? We're doomed. ;)

I heard that the Timberwolves really, really, really wish they could have us in the first round.

Webber and Barkley are on our side, didn't seem like Kenny Smith really was.

Barkley said NOBODY wants to see us in the first round - and Webber agreed because of our flexibility thanks to GW.

Has anything that Barkley said ever mattered? Outside of Rasheed Wallace being a "knucklehead", of course.

He said that if we meet the Lakers in the first round, it would be a toss-up series.

It's funny cause in the Bulls forum, many are suggesting that Barkley is a genius who sees things that many don't.

This will just be another notch on his belt.

In October, my thought was "you gotta win a series".
When Oden was officially out, the thought was "that sucks, but you gotta win a series"
When Roy went down, the thought was "that super-sucks, but you gotta win a series"
With Crash coming on board the thought was "holy cow, we might win a series!"
After seeing the last 2 months, it's "There's no one in the West that I'm scared of. Finals, baby!"

If Bynum is hobbled we will beat the Lakers. I feel absolutely certain of it. Nothing would make me happier than to knock out those A-Holes.

You guys are overconfident. They suck now, late in the regular season when it doesn't matter, but they are very experienced in the playoffs.

1997. Blazers finish out the season on a 20-5 run. Look like worldbeaters.

Get beat in the first round by a Laker squad that gets swept the following round.

Seen this movie before, but I still hope.

I think the one team that would welcome a first round match up with us is Thunder.

Best line: "Everybody can't play New Orleans though".

I think I should start a thread. My garbageman says we'll beat the Lakers.

Barkley was only a garbageman at the end of his NBA career. He was able to create his own shot pretty well most of his career.

I stand corrected and I apologize to my garbageman for the comparison.

I don't understand Barkley's analysis. So what if we put LA at the five? They move Gasol to the five, put Odom at the four and keep Artest at the three. I think we're a bit overrated right now.

If they do this then we are in great shape!
