Turner to the Bucks is meh to me, doesn't make them much better. Turner is solid, nothing all that special IMO.
Agreed - I'd say were by far the biggest benefactor since if anything it makes their 2028-2030 flexibility much lower.

Although with Giannis and a few role players on a wide open East I wouldn't be shocked if they had a nice record next year. Good for them - will make them continue to do even more short sighted moves.

imagine you're a pacer fan: 10 days ago you're watching the 1st Q of game 7 with your team having a golden opportunity to win their 1st NBA championship. Then your superstar player goes down with a non-contact injury that looks serious. You lose game seven. 20 hours later you know the injury is a severe Achilles tear and your superstar may never be the same. 9 days later, you starting C who has started every game he's played for 9 straight seasons leaves in free agency

wow....

Yeah that's a tough couple weeks for sure.
But I think in the long run they might be better off not paying Turner.

Prediction -- Ayton to the Pacers

If I recall like a year before he got traded to the Blazers his name and the Pacers were linked and IF this season could be a lost on for them why not bring in Ayton and see.
Ahh I never thought of that but its an interesting idea. Ayton was rumored to the Bucks - obviously that door is now closed.

If the Lakers/Pacers don't open up the MLE for him he might be left regretting the buyout deal.

Might be a giant red flag throughout the league that a team trying desperately to win by paying Jrue $105 million is paying Ayton $26 million just to go away. We prefer going forward with a walking chronic injured TimeLord and a 20 year old 7 foot Chinese guy projected as a 2nd round pick.

Denver continues to KILL IT

If I was a Nuggets fan, this offseason would exceed my most optimistic dreams.

Sacramento? Not so much. But if you're a Kings fan you can't be optimistic any more unless you're literally clinically insane.

@Stevenson fill us in on the kings

Pacers actually signed Ayton to his current contract we just bought out.

Jason Quick's article sure isn't helping Ayton or his agent; although I suspect most of it is widely known in league offices

the problem is this shit was known about Ayton 2 years ago. He was 24 years old and a 5 year veteran. The Blazer front office's fantasy they could coach the spots off the leopard was stupid

Yeah its crazy how fast the fortunes of teams can change. We kind of experienced that in the Oden/Roy era when poof is was over.

Pacers went from NBA purgatory to one of the most amazing postseason runs - possible favorite in the East next year. Poof now that's gone. Celtics looked like a dynasty 12 months ago. Dallas was in the at finals and is a completely different team now.

Thunder won 68 games plus the title. Dame was waived 19 months after being a Blazer.

NBA is very unpredictable 2-3 years out. Thats why I love the idea of the unprotected Orlando picks - and was very concerned about giving Washington that pick in the Deni trade. Just no idea at all what these teams will look like.

another example: a couple of months ago that unprotected 2029 Boston pick looked almost guaranteed to fall in the 25-30 range. Then Tatum tears his Achilles and may never be the same. Boston has to dump Jrue and Porzingis, And there are rumors they were shopping Jalen Brown. The realities of the aprons bit them in the ass, hard, Now, that unprotected pick looks a lot better. Boston has good management so it will still likely be a pick in the 20's. But you never know

Yeah I was fine with the gamble but it obviously didnt work out. Might have been dumb back then.

But now its multiple teams and multiple coaches/teammates. Its an even more established track record. If his rep is really as bad throughout the NBA as it is with Phx/PDX fans is there a chance the has to settle for a vet minimum type of deal?

What is the saying - fool me once shame on you... fool me ....

It will be interesting to see how long it takes Boston to become relevant again. And by relevant I mean contenders.

Really depends on Tatum injury recovery. If he is a Kobe/Wes Matthews shell of his old self their days are over. Not just the loss of his play - but that he is on a $300 million supermax earning over 70million per year until 2030.

If he comes back nearly the same like Durant it might be the 2027 playoffs.

So far, this offseason is living up to the hype.

Tons of fun and crazy shit. Glad to see the Blazers are a part of it.
is this sarcasm? what have we done?

where is the camara and sharpe extension?
where is the mle signing?
where is the grant trade?
where is the new owner?

we are watching the rockets, hawks, and nuggets make their teams better

Are you surprised Jabari Walker is not signed yet? He belongs in the NBA

A bit - with his 3pt shooting I expected he'll get a contract offer.

I wonder if the Blazers have offered him anything under his QO amount.

I also thought Banton was a nice scoring punch at the end of the bench - and with Ant gone we might need that.

Imagine they will at the least have vet minimum offers. Who knows though.

We’ll see about the Rockets. I don’t think they will be 2 seed again.

walker and banton are inexpensive and justify what they make with their level of contribution per my estimation. I think the reason we did not retain them is because Joe needed the roster room for a potential unbalanced trade (Jerami)
