agreed.....Trent was a lot better at looking intense on defense than being effective on defense
Defense is the “team” part of this sport. You can play good defense but look pretty bad if the group on the court can’t play together.

when he was a Blazer, Trent was beat off the dribble almost as much as Simons

Whatever, let’s just get back before the Spurs. That’s good company.
Teams who get elite talent followed by the team who thinks they "might have a chance to win it all if things go right"...

Idk. With Wembanyama, De'Aaron Fox, and crew they could potentially make a run next year. Especially, if they get Flagg.

If Wemby comes back. I’m bummed. Would’ve been fun to see him in the playoffs this year.

Clippers and Nuggets involved in pushy push. Someone is going to get suspended.

Why wouldn't he come back. Dame did.

that was a pretty incredible game winner. Couldn't have been closer. The Nuggets almost choked away the 22 point lead; the Clippers had a lot of help from the officials IMo; Jokic was really getting lots of pushing and shoving without getting calls

watched the earlier game when OKC completed the sweep

* will Shaedon Sharpe ever be as good as Jalen Williams? I'm skeptical
* will Clingan be better than Zach Edey? I'd say probably but Edey will likely always be better on offense

* Would Ayton even be a top-10 C in these playoffs? Holmgren-Hartenstein-Jaren Jackson-Sengun-Jokic-Zubac-Gobert-Jarrett Allen-Mobley-Porzingis-Kat-Myles Turner-WCJ-Adebayo.....he'd be about the 15th best; maybe better than WCJ...so 14th

I think Clingan is already better than Edey. Blazers picked the right one there.

Still think we made the wrong decision by drafting Scoot over Amen? I don't think so. Funny how that troll disappears anytime Amen craps the bed. Which has been most of the series thus far.

a 22 year old player sputtering a bit in his first playoff series isn't exactly news

Amen was clearly better this season:

that said, I have not given up on Scoot. Straight across trade? probably stay with Scoot. Blazers have Camara and Thybulle

Context. I like Amen, but he was never going to be a go-to option on offense. Scoot still has the opportunity. He at times looked like the best player on the floor this season. He's also younger. It's no secret that I like Amen, but we're trying to find top options to carry the offense. I don't think anyone is fooling themselves that Amen can ever be that. Scoot has that potential. Whether or not he gets there, we'll see more next season.

The superstar label was always silly for Amen.

I haven't seen anything from Scoot to make me think he could carry a successful nba offense. Dame yes, Scoot no. I just don't think he's got the overall Dame-Rose-Westbrook-Morant-Mitchell talent. He can certainly be a very solid PG who can have strong scoring games; but he absolutely needs to reduce his turnovers

I’m not going to directly counter your main thesis but I will point out that he did drop his turnovers this season from 3.4 last year to 2.7 this year.

Definitely not clearly better at shooting..... or passing. Or FTA. Or FT%.

Scoot is a point guard. He's better at point guard things. Amen is clearly not a point guard. He's better at wing things. The Blazers don't exactly need another wing, so to me Amen hasn't clearly set himself apart. There's just a ton of hype around him right now... but he still can't shoot.

Yeah, you've made your opinion pretty clear. I'd say in that three month stretch he was pretty phenomenal. I don't mean to cherry pick, but if he can be that, there's no reason he can't be a star or top option on offense. He's already figured out his shooting this early into his career. No reason to think he can't improve other parts of his game.
