Guys used to play with that shit lol
And now sometimes they don't. They've already put in the new 65 game rule for awards, with many extensions and bonuses tied to those awards. Adjusting with "zeros" seems silly and petty to me.

Don't like the idea of contracts being stat based - even advanced stats can have plays that are harmful to team success.

For contracts I'd just like to see deals never be more than 50% guaranteed... so player can be cut in any offseason and the team gets out of half the remaining contract. Guy like Grant could be cut tomorrow and the Blazers can save $50+ million from rest of that contract, and $18 million this season from Ayton. Those players are still getting massive paydays even if they got cut as well as now would be free agents to sign new deals.

Milwaukee could cut Dame and save $56 million over the next two years. Dame still gets paid that same $56 million (50% of his remaining deal) just to sit on the couch, or he can eventually try to sign with another team so its not like these players are losing everything. I'd love if I could get fired and get half my paycheck for the next 3 years while getting a new job elsewhere. Would also allow the player to be on a team that better fits what they want to accomplish and the team doesnt have to hold a roster spot on a guy that doesn't fit long term.

I like the 3point line being a circle without corner 3s, and allowing bigs to camp at the basket.

Yeah I remember seeing some stats a few years ago how now there is almost zero home court advantage in the playoffs. It used to be a much larger advantage as the refs gave calls to the home team and crowd reaction but thats been cleaned up the last few decades.

We've never seen this 0-5 for home teams... but we have seen a number of playoff series in recent years where road teams won more than home. That just about never happened decades ago.

The regular season has a much larger home court advantage - but thats almost entirely because the home team has more rest days and less travel days. Travel isn't a factor in the playoffs as both teams have identical schedules and there aren't back to backs.

Was huge for the warriors getting that game 1, without Steph and less than 48 hours rest. As long as they can get 1 of next 3 games then hope Curry can return for game 5 they have a real chance.

Going to be a pretty big storyline and unexpected for whoever emerges from the west.

East I tend to think it's going to be NY/Boston winner.

I have learned not to turn off if a team has a 20 point lead.,
In today’s NBA 20 points is nothing. Anything over 10 points used to be considered a big lead especially going into the 4th quarter.

Coming from a guy who held out hope for Simmons getting past his problems for way to long... this is an absolute nothing burger that whoever made this Twitter post tried to make look epic.

Right, because the Celtics basically want everyone to be able to shoot and specifically to shoot 3s - so them looking for a guy that is afraid to shoot bunnies...

Garbage in, Garbage out...

This 2nd Round has been pure stupid fun. I am loving every second. And the NHL playoffs is just great teams throwing haymakers at each other and laying it ALL out on the ice.

NHL will always be superior in every way imaginable when it comes to playoffs, and the NBA sucks in almost every imaginable way in everything they do, but at least this is fun before everyone remembers how fucking shitty the NBA always is.
