The thing for me about Kat is he comes off as a punk with all the taunting and unnecessary behavior on the court. You would think a guy who has been through as much as he has, and he has been through a lot of shit, would be more humble.

Looks like the all star game is going to be USA vs The World. Not sure there are 12-15 foreign players deserving of the all star status though.

So players like Giannis and Jokic will play for the world team? Will NBA team not have any foreign born players?

So dumb. That means plenty of players will be out of all star nods because of the gimmick. For instance Trae Young. He is a 4 time all star and probably wouldn't make it again with this gimmick.

More potential for Blazers to get picked? Ha

Look on the bright side FAMS! Your starting center DeAndre Ayton would be an all star!

I think both teams will play much harder than most All-Star games.

I'll tune in to watch this one.

Did they say their going to pick exactly 12 USA and 12 international players as all-stars?

I assume selection would be the standard 12 East 12 West but then they just divide the players to two teams. So one team could have 10 guys the other 14 or whatever. Maybe some guys that were born internationally but spent time in the US as kids could be on either squad as space allows.

Not sure, good point.

But, a team with 14 guys versus a team with 10 guys is lame too.

If it continues it taints the all star game. Players 9 through 12 on the world team will be painfully worse than someone like Trae Young.
I don't think you could taint the All-Star game more than it has been. It's been a shit show that I haven't cared about for years.

Not sure why you brought Detroit into the trade. It can be as simple as Grant/Johnson with swaps of picks. (Granted, Nets would have to clear up their Cap Holds of all the unwanted past players).

can you explain how that is a legal trade. I thought the maximum trade differential on salaries that big was 7.5M

Agree to disagree. While I agree it is boring, rewarding guys with all star nods that don't deserve it isn't the answer to me.

Jamal Murray making it over Trae Young, Damian Lillard, Cade Cunningham etc. because Murray is from Canada would be ridiculous.

I think that kind of thing already happens, though...

But yeah, agree to disagree. For me, this will make it much more interesting.

Correct me if I'm wrong here. I thought All-Star selections impacted players salaries like All NBA selections do.

Kind of. East vs West type of thing, but not that egregious. Trae young is a 4 time all star as is. Doubtful he makes it over Cade Cunningham, Tyrese Haliburton, Jalen Brunson, Steph Curry. But if players from the World suck and they are the 11th or 12th man....

Who makes the all star game?

Jokic, Giannis, Luka, Gobert, Sabonis, Sengun, Wemby, SGA, Siakim, Kyrie, Murray, Markannen

With Porzingis as alternate.

What a ridiculously situated roster. Kyrie, SGA, Luka, Giannis, Jokic is probably the starting 5, and almost all their backups are big men.

Like 7 or 8 of those guys are probably locks anyways.

Team USA.

Lebron, Curry, Haliburton, Brunson, Tatum, Mitchell, Ant, Harden, Anthony Davis, Kawhi Leonard, Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Jalen Williams, Evan Mobley, Paolo Banchero, Jaylen Brown, Jimmy Butler, Ja Morant, chet Holmgren, Trae Young, Dame Lillard, Kat, De'Aaron Fox, Cooper Flagg, Joel Embiid

Edit: I guess KAT played for the Dominican national team so he could be on the world team taking Markannens spot.

Get Sharpe in there!

There are a lot of international players. Not that these should be the guys picked, but here are some names...

- Joel Embiid would also be on the intentional team
- Kyrie Irving (Mavericks; Australia)
- Kristaps Porziņģis (Celtics; Latvia),
- Nikola Vučević (Chicago Bulls; Montenegro)
- Andrew Wiggins (Golden State Warriors; Canada).

There are also a number of American players with ties to other countries as well as more than 35 players with at least one parent from an African country. Among the American players with ties to other countries are Bam Adebayo (Miami Heat; ties to Nigeria), Jalen Green (Rockets; ties to the Philippines), Karl-Anthony Towns (New York Knicks; ties to the Dominican Republic) and Jaylin Williams (Thunder; ties to Vietnam).

There are over 100 international players. If you're from the US and want to make the team you better play your ass off... And if we're concerned about the quality of the international players the US had better damned sure win. And if they want the US vs the world game to end they should make it a blowout.

I would be willing to bet if you had the regular all Star Game and the US vs world All Star game the latter would get FAR better ratings and be a much better game.

Embiid and Bam play for Team USA though.

I dont think Sharpe or Deni are on the team yet, but I think Deni has better odds and is a better player.

Like 70% of their top 20 players are bigs
