Great finals game - super intense and hard fought.

After seeing how exhausted these guys are with 2 days of rest I don't understand how people can argue for an 82 game season with tons of back to backs.
They did it for 75 years. There used to be more back to backs and 4 out of 5s and guys like John Stockton and Michael Jordan played in every game.

It's just crazy how Stockton played 82 games at 40 years old and Jordan did it at 39. Truly a different group in today's game.

I would demand a hot pastrami on rye and an egg cream. Chocolate of course.
San Francisco has great restaurants but even there just can't get genuine hot pastrami sandwich.
If they go for it I'll put in a good word and maybe they will interview you for the assistant position?

They also got to coast on defense against a bunch of stiffs that had no shooting, compared to today where it's a court spread with 5 deadly 3pt shooters.

Also the game had way less possessions as offense got 24 seconds instead of 14 today, so there was a lot of time just pounding the ball and resting.

Don't get me wrong - I love 90s NBA and prefer most of it to todays boring 3pt yawn fest. But the effort players have to exert today is incomparable. Additionally a sample of 2 guys that played all those games like Stockton/Jordan isn't indictive of what the other 95% of players can do. Those guys are exceptions - not the rule.

You know what they have in SF everywhere that you just can’t find here is Dutch Crunch bread. Even the places that use it to make their sandwiches, don’t sell the bread itself! Very frustrating.

So, whoever wins Friday is the eventual Champ? It should be an intense game and fun to watch.

Can't beat San Francisco sourdough. It can't be duplicated outside the Bay because it results from our local wild yeast strains. I bake regular bread with commercial yeast although in dedicated ceramic bowl that is wiped but never washed with soap so wild yeast spores can live dormant in crevasses. But can't beat genuine two day fermented sourdough.

Stockton and Jordan did not coast on defense. Jordan was DPOY and I think Stockton is #1 all time in total steals. As for the other 95%, players were more in danger on offense. Playing against players like Laimbeer, McHale, and Anthony, you could get seriously hurt for trying to score in the paint. Not the case now.

Yeah… I get the feeling the next collective bargaining agreement negotiation is going to be a bloodbath.
Yeah a lot of all-star level players that aren't top10 players just don't have value on max contracts now. It used to be all of these guys were the most valuable players in the league and the key to contending was getting 2-3 of them.

Today guys like Deni/Camara are way more valuable.

I forgot trae young was even in the league. He makes no impact and is mid at best lol.

I'm not sure that's true:

might be a championship investment

the key is the cost of the rest of the roster. Those two stars, 84.3M; the other 12 players, 84.8M
