PG packs his bags and heads for LA. Carmelo sucks one more year of bloated salary out of the Thunder’s corpse. Love it.

I still don’t think George goes to the lakers. If they sign him what happens to Randle? Ingram? Kuzma? I think the clippers might get him.

The Clips are still in LA, right? :breakdance:

I just laughed at all the fans that were stroking Presti for getting Melo and George and they end up below Portland in the standings and most likely below Portland going forward. But yeah he’s a genius.

He's literally drafted perfectly or damn near. The idea and execution was great. They have a problem on their hands. It's becoming more apparent that the MVP of last season is also a problem-child who can't play nice with other good players. Durant left. Oladipo was a nobody when playing with Westbrook. And now, we see Paul George is merely average when paired with Westbrook as well. I'd start over if I'm OKC. They won't be a winning team with Westbrook at the helm.

Not recently.

So happy.

And I really can't wait to see @Boob-No-More posts about Westbrook! Get yo popcorn!

Something tells me this isn't what Carmelo Anthony had in mind when he waived his no trade clause:

All I can say is BWAAH hahahahahahaha!!! What the fuck did you expect??? If Russ made a habit of freezing out Kevin Durant in his prime, why the fuck wouldn't he freeze out an over the hill Carmelo Anthony?

OKC is so fucked. They are going to be in tax hell forever, and getting worse the entire time. If PG13 leaves they are fucked talent wise. They gave up Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis for a 1-year rental that cost them an additional $55.5 million in salary and luxury tax this year and resulted in 1 more regular season and 1 more playoff win compared to last year.

Carmelo is going to opt in to his $28 million and Russ's 5-year $205 million extension hasn't even kicked in yet. If they do resign PG13 they will have the highest payroll and the highest luxury tax payment in the history of the league next year. And for what, a mid-level seed and 1st round fodder - yet again.

Becoming???? I've been saying it for seven years. It's earned me a reputation as a Westbrook hater, but truth be told, I fucking love the guy exactly as he is, exactly where he is. He's the perfect "superstar" for a division rival that I despise. He makes his team good, but prevents them from being great. I predicted seven years ago that OKC would never win an NBA title with Westbrook as their starting PG. People thought I was nuts. They had so much young talent in Durant, Westbrook, Harden and Ibaka. Everyone else was predicting a dynasty. Russ has done nothing but prove them wrong and me right ever since.

And he's going to be sucking up $205 million in cap space over the next five years. OKC chose to trade Harden because they were too cheap to amnesty Kendrick Perkins, lost Durant because he got tired of Russ freezing him out and then turned around and gave Russ the largest contract in league history. They backed the wrong horse and did so in a monumental fashion.

Good, serves their lying, hillbilly owners right.

The only thing I can say in their defense is at least they went for it. They went all in, and lost. I think we'll probably have to do something similar if we wanna become a contender.

Oh, I've always agreed on this sentiment but I think even casual viewers can agree on this conclusion. Individually, Westbrook is great but he's a horrible team player and is the cause for so much bad in the team. The owner got cheap and didn't want to pay Harden. That's not Presti's fault though. Every GM has to succumb to dumb decisions by the owner.

Why is it 78 not 79? I stopped watching for a second there.
I wondered the same thing. In fact, when I did a fast forward and saw the 78 I thought I was losing my mind. Had to go back and double check that score. It was reassuring to see that I was right that it used to be 79 but was now 78. Was it ever explained?

I would say Westbrook and melo belong on the same team. You have melo who was great in his prime but was and is a volume shooter, all iso. Then you have Westbrook. Great talent but bad team mate and leader. It’s why I don’t understand the Kevin Durant hate. Don’t you see why he left the team? It’s quite obvious. It’s not a lamarcus situation where it doesn’t make a ton of sense. Westbrook’s character showed me even more that last game of the season chasing for those 16 rebounds to average another’s triple double for the season. He will never win a title, best rely on being the guy that got a bunch of triple doubles. A meaningless stat line. Put up 19 threes as a 29 percent three point shooter. Yup...

The best team to surround Westbrook with would be four other players like Adams who are willing to sacrifice themselves for him and see much less of a ball and do the small things that help Westbrook get the numbers. Anthony is not that guy and PG isn’t either.

I remember as a kid playing round ball at the park and no one liked playing with a guy that thought he's was a super star, and dominated the ball and scoring effort. Didn't matter win or lose it wasn't fun for the others to just watch someone play give me the ball.
I bet George and others on the Thunder are thinking the same way now.

It’s hard for others to get into rhythm too

Maker with the clean block on Horford, refs call a goal tend, and can't review.

Bucks have a real interesting decision to make with Parker. Someone’s probably going to offer him 15-20 mil a year and I’m not sure Milwaukee will match. He doesn’t look to have lost any of that explosiveness or athleticism and his defense has been much better in the playoffs.

Would love him in Portland but I think our chance to make that happen was at the deadline.

Celtics advance. The Bucks have such a good team on paper, and the Celtics (with the injury to Kyrie) an average one. But the game is not won on paper, the Celtics are such a good team.

Can anyone explain to me what's wrong with the Bucks? Because I feel like they should be better than they are, and I don't watch enough Bucks games to have an informed opinion as to why they aren't. Am I expecting too much from them, or are they under performing? And if so why?

Great bench game by Baynes - 15 min, 8 pts @ 80%, 7 reb (5 oreb), 2 ast, 1 stl (I swear had had 2 stl earlier, and they've taken one off of him.)

They can't defend and they just go one on one. Celtics are better than average on paper if the paper is right. Rozier is for real. Better than Kyrie possibly. Is Hayward better than Brown in the long run?

Rozier isn't better than Kyrie. The stats disagree with that, the eye test disagrees with that, and everything else does too. He had a great series but that doesn't automatically mean he's better.
