IMO, there are only 3 'big' men in the NBA worth a max deal: Jokic, Embiid, & Giannis. And Giannis is probably more wing than a big man. And both Jokic & Embiid can go out on the perimeter shooting three's and making passes

the meteor of the three point line caused the extinction of dinosaur big men

And I think this is much better for the league.

Conley is no slouch as a set up man. Zero blocks last night for a guy his size?

The Memphis version of Conley, sure, but his role is pretty inconsistent now, and involvement of other players lives and dies by how Mitchell plays.

I didn't watch the game, so I can't answer the lack of blocks. If they were spreading Gobert out on defense, it seems reasonable he never would have been in position to be driven on at the rim.

The NBA is a pioneer in the field of recycling. He flopped with the Hawks, and the Bucks hired him. He flopped with the Bucks and the Blazers gave him a chance. Based solely on W-L record he did better here than in his first 2 stops. If he wants to coach again, somebody will give him a chance.
