If they lose both Melo & PG13 to FA this offseason their unfinished product will be finished.
All I heard from people is how good OKC is going to be. How they'll eventually figure it out and get a higher playoff seed.
All I can do is laugh at those people now.

It's grey area, to be sure. But consider it from the player's viewpoint. It's not like they chose to sit out and gain an advantage on next year's rookie class by learning on the job. They had an entire year of their preciously short career taken away by injury.

Also, I imagine you could make a very strong case that any 2nd year "rookie" who wins ROY would have easily won it the year prior if healthy. Not only is it a reflection of how good they are and were, but they were probably better off before missing that much time.

He wasn't "on the bench" and HCP travels with the team, so what?

Exactly. Simmons would've run away with it last year.

It was a little shady last year with Simmons. I think he was ready in february and Colangelo shut him down. Not for the ROY award, but being cautious helped them tank again

I remember hearing something to that effect. I agree, there's some shadiness there, but that's on the team, not the player. I doubt Simmons asked to sit out the rest of the year so they could pick a massively overrated guy this year who isn't even playing.

Their? You realize that Melos like 34 and PG isn't going to wait in a small market for bench pieces? And you do realize that's not going to put them over the top either? And you do realize that they won't have the cap space or assets to add good bench pieces?

You do understand that PG is leaving after this year... yes? And the performance of the team isn't going to keep him there. So yeah, they will need to get bench pieces anyway...

Melo is not going anywhere. He is set to make $28M if he does not opt out. Nobody is going to give him that as a FA next year.

TPEs don't work like that. They can only be used on contracts smaller than the TPE itself.

LBJ, PG13, CP3, Boogie, Melo will all sign for the minimum to play in Houston. - cf 2017
Get with the times.
Oh and remember. Teams are banging down Morey's door to take on Andersons contract. Rumor is the Celtics will give up Tatum, Brown, Irving + 3 first round picks for the privilege of taking Anderson.

Actually, I heard that the Blazers are willing to give up Collins, Caleb, Nurk and Meyers just to PAY for Andersons salary as he stays on the Rockets.

so what, hes 22 yo with upside... I mentioned him before as someone we should keep an eye on
hes UFA next summer, we need scoring at SF and he provides that... like I said, Olshey will definitely look at him

you cant shoot threes 8/10 if you cant shoot, I mean, you can have game when your shot is falling down, but Hezonja isnt that type of player

ORL didnt do him any good, he needs change of scenery to gain his self confidence, he needs regular minutes
 
Hezonja seems like an Olshey type and the only surprise is that he hasn’t traded for him yet.

In free agency we could probably offer him the MLE. Should be enough. I’d rather spend the MLE on him than on Napier. Just think the upside is greater. Napier will never see consistent minutes while we have Dame and CJ.
 
Why the hell did Orlando not pick up his option? It's not like he would have cost them much next season if they did, about $4M. Now he has been playing very well for the last couple of weeks but they have no option to sign him for the next season anymore (they cannot offer more than $4M while other teams can).

I would offer a second round pick plus a player for him comfortably. Maybe a second round pick plus TPE that we have (at the end of the day Orlando declined his team option because they did not want to pay his salary next year so we can take him even now).

Looking at their forum they want to trade everybody for young players/draft picks. I'd go for Vucevic and Fournier too.

Swanigan, Meyers, Harkless, 2018 1st round pick, 2018 2nd round pick for Vucevic, Fournier and Hezonja?

I am impressed with OG Anunoby. I was kind of hoping he drops to us in the draft but he didn't, versatile wing defender with a sweet three pointer.
 


This is pretty pathetic. He has to find the team's video guys to play 1 on 1?

 
Trash Warriors in overtime. They might have a small chance of making playoffs after all?
