We already have a project player. His name is Meyers Leonard. For the sixth year. :sigh:

Some interesting examples of players who did not take off until 25 or so:

Whiteside

Brad Miller

Laimbeer

Przybilla

I'm not optimistic that Meyers will make this list, but . . .

The bad news though is that most of the games decent to great centers come into the league ready to contribute in their early 20s. But, there is a chance.

Dude. Link to your mom on xhamster. This just took a kinky turn.
Here is a screen shot. Sicko.

So you're saying there's a chance?

Those players also weren't in their sixth year at 25......and Joel hardly "took off."

Well not it's official, we're never getting AD
Haha.

I'm more optimistic about that happening than any of the past few big names being mentioned (whiteside, PG, Melo). I think it's destiny for these two to play together, and I think it will be in PDX. The dominoes seem in place - Draft class, building rapport, Tiny Tim being in NOLA, this tweet...

Anthony Davis first selected Kyrie Irving, but Irving blocked him on Twitter when he did.

Oooo, nice try but...

Not a Center: - 5 points
White: + 10 points
Not America Born: - 1000 points

Nash is African born. Ironic, no?

BNM

Yeah, I have to admit that when I went searching for data, I expected to find a majority of centers took several years to contribute. I was wrong. >80% of them contribute either right away or at least by 22. Only a few examples of late bloomers. And only one or two of those was really good.

She tells her students — like Nick Gurol, whose middle-schoolers believe the Earth is flat — that, as hard as they try, science teachers aren't likely to change a student's misconceptions just by correcting them.

Gurol says his students got the idea of a flat planet from basketball star Kyrie Irving, who said as much on a podcast.

"And immediately I start to panic. How have I failed these kids so badly they think the Earth is flat just because a basketball player says it?" He says he tried reasoning with the students and showed them a video. Nothing worked.

"They think that I'm part of this larger conspiracy of being a round-Earther. That's definitely hard for me because it feels like science isn't real to them."

The Golden State Warriors are re-signing center JaVale McGee to a one-year contract, sources told ESPN.

The deal is for the veteran's minimum, the sources said. Golden State now has 15 guaranteed contracts, making their roster complete.

Pretty good re-signing for them. He made an effective injection of athleticism and energy off the bench for them.

Never had a coach like Kerr.

Yeah...used right, he's a nice low-minutes weapon. Kerr definitely has a knack for putting players in position to succeed.

And now we have a Nick Young/JaVale McGee show reunion!

That's just sad

I don't think he's a top-20 point guard and the NBA seems to regard him as reserve-caliber. He hasn't cracked 30 MPG since 2013-14 and that's across 4 teams.

Damn, he's only getting 7 mpg per team? He's like the Jamaican family from In Living Color! Only tree jobs, mon?!
