We already have a guy who can score 10 points a game and make us peek through our hands when he shoots threes. We don't need Crowder.

@MickZagger if we land Olynyk with the MLE

Doesn't matter. He did the same thing that Durant did. And people barely a year over are forgiving Durant. Hayward is no different. So his ex-fans will be angry over cups of tea while playing board games, rather than cursing him while drinking beer over bbq.... it's all the same. No one will give a shit.

Boston didn't win 70 games last year. I also can't blame Hayward going with the coach that he's known for a long time and was an influential part of his life.

Relatedly, I'm curious what Dewayne Dedmon does. He'd be a pretty ideal acquisition for the Warriors, but they only have the taxpayer's MLE, which is around $5.5M. I'm interested to see how the league values him.
I think if they had their choice it'd be him and I think there's probably some mutual interest there. GS was the first team to sign him as a UDFA in 13' and he's from California.

Crowder shot like 40% this season.
So he's almost as good as Meyers then?

He's not a bad player by any means, but he's basically an all star to people who only care about how much money players make.

I wouldn't throw in a pick for him is all.

Dude he averaged 14/6/2 with high level defense while shooting .463/.398/ .811 he is worth the pick... he is basically a 3/4 version of Wes

Sure, if Leonard could shoot contested shots and play strong defense.

He's a very good 3&D guy on a reasonable contract. Outside of star players, that's the most valuable type of player in this era. That's why people are interested--that's also why I don't think Portland has a chance in hell of getting him.

You're forgetting how enticing a sweet-shooting 7-footer can be...

They need size, rebounding, and defense.
Sure, but Stevens probably would only play him at the 5 and they still have Horford and likely Zizic to man that spot.

You don't give up Crowder for a back-up center (at best) and a mid-first. Especially if you're trying to compete w/ Cleveland.

If I was Crowder's agent I'd be working the phones right now. He took money that looks like a pittance in today's NBA and they drafted a forward and just spent a fortune on another. Plus Jaylen Brown.

Stevens played Amir Johnson at the 4, I'm sure he'd play Davis in that role.

Horford is best used as a PF, so someone like Davis would compliment him well. The problem is Boston needs to cut salary, that's the whole point of trading Crowder.
