So the Blazers apparently can only beat a team on the road if their star is out, while Timberwolves apparently can't beat the same team (with their star out).....at home. Nice win by the Wiz
Thanks you ass-face cock-gobbler......recorded that and just sat down to start watching it!

Wizards Just beat wolves in their home, is like I said everytime, every game is tough, someone can step up, huge game by Otto porter.

Karma bitch!!!!

Serves you right. I'm so sick of all your thread crapping "if we only had an Around the NBA thread" bullshit. It's beyond tired and was never funny to begin with. I find it ironically humorous that you came to this Around the NBA thread and it bit you in the ass.

So here is a quote from Enes Kanter-
“I’m not going to tell who, but I told somebody, ‘Hey man, go out there and fight with somebody. It will get the energy up.” No, I’m serious. If you go out there and just hit somebody or just fight with somebody, get a technical foul, I will pay for the fine, I don’t care. Just go out there and do your thing. Because we need that energy, we need that fight. It doesn’t matter if we’re down by 25, a fight, get a technical foul, the crowd is in it, and they’re gonna get nervous.”

Pretty much admits he told Beasley to go start a fight with Nurkic.

He should get fined AND suspended.

C.J. got suspended for leaving the bench during a preseason game in a completely non-threatening way. Logically, encouraging a teammate to start a fight should carry a harsher penalty, but the NBA doesn't always act in the most logical manner.

What the fuck are the refs doing?

You have no idea what James said to the ref. There are certain magic words that will automatically get you a technical, even if you're LeBron James. He's been in the league long enough to know that, even if you don't.

The best part is it backfired and actually killed all the momentum of their comeback. And made what would have been a 4-6 point deficit back to 10. So thanks, Enes. Money well spent.

Not a bad strategy. It can definitely spark the home team when they are flat. The problem was he tried it at the wrong time. NY already had the spark and was on a run. Then Dame hits two free throws and Nurk hits 1 of 2 (plus all the time the refs took looking at the replay) and any momentum they had gathered was gone. Not bright

Edit: oops I did not see Strenuus' post. Yeah what he said....

Didn't really seem like he was all that upset about the technical and even the ejection. He was upset about a questionable call yes. But seemed pretty subdued about the ejection.

Breath...... I was joking. I record about 5 games a night, I totally understand I might get some spoilers on here.

This goes in the Around the NBA thread.

I may start moving threads there more consistently. Keep it Blazer related to an extent, guys.
Finally a mod that is earning his check.

I think it's because Thompson's shot-arc is a little flatter than Curry's.

Yeah, I believe that's what the coach said.

There's been some interesting research over the years that taller players are actually better shooters, all else being equal, because of the higher trajectory creating more favorable bounces. I wonder if that's what we're finally starting to see with all the stretch-4's and stretch-5's? Until recently, the tall guys never honed their shooting skills to the same degree as the guards.

Have to remember that they have bigger size and less hand-eye coordination. That is more of a factor that a higher release point. But yes, that is definitely why were seeimg more shooting from big men

Maybe he has trust issues. Doesn't trust his bench

I think Thibs focuses too much on trying to win EVERY regular season game and is blind to the bigger picture. He's the anti-Poppovich when it comes to resting his starters during the regular season so they will be fresh for the playoffs.

And they still lost that game.

For good reason, it appears. Every one of his starters was + for the game; all the bench guys were between -6 and -13. Sounds like he needs to learn how to stagger his lineups better.

Breathe, not breath.

Breathe is like "breathe deep, the gathering gloom..watch lights fade from every room"

whereas Breath is "from hells heart I stab at thee. For hates sake, I spit my last breath at thee"

It's not only the minutes, it's the defense from the wolves. especially Towns is a weak defender witch is crazy because he has the body and athletic to be a hell of a two way player. Sometimes it look's he sleep on rotation or is just too lazy to defend

Fitzgerald explained the rationale behind his decision to a pool reporter after the game.

"It was a culmination of a couple different acts," Fitzgerald said. "Immediately after the no-call, he turned and threw an air punch directly at me, and then he aggressively charged at me, and then he used vulgarity in my ear a few times."

Asked if anything happened between him and James before the third quarter that fed into the ejection, Fitzgerald said, "Nothing at all, nothing that I'm aware of."

He said he tossed him with only 1 tech too. Like bang, you're gone. I didn't hear what was said but from the outside looking in, tossing him was too severe IMO.

The Donkey does that shit all the time with NO penalty...

I think it really depends on what LeBron said. His coach said he deserved the ejection and LeBron didn't seem too surprised he got tossed, although he did say he thought he was tossed because he got two quick technicals.

Arguing a non-call to the point of risking ejection when you're up by 23 doesn't seem like the smartest thing, but in the end didn't impact the outcome of the game. Even with LeBron gone, CLE still hung on to win by double digits.

He didn't even get fouled either. He initiated every ounce of the contact on a legal defender. I also think Tyronne was just trying to get the question over with. When you use only 1 tech to toss a player it REALLY has to be something severe.

Based on Fitzgerald's comment that LeBron used vulgarity in his ear multiple times, it sounds like LeBron was testing the young official to see how far he could push him. Now he knows.
