Lakers have some talent, but they're not going to be beating many western conference teams.
I don't even think I'd favor the Lakers against the Kings or Suns.
Highly doubt the Lakers are a 30 win team in the West.

Lakers are fine compared to Bulls or Hawks. Players like Caldwell-Pope and Lopez are much better than anyone they have, Ball and Ingram are both very talented players, Randle also has good potential and their less recognized young players like Kuzma, Zubac and Clarkson are quite good too. I think Lakers will be quite entertaining to watch this season. With Lopez around and their young roster they are actually not that hateable anymore.

QCH Source: Nic Batum tore UCL in his left elbow. In all likelihood, he's done for the season.

Batum out for season.

Holy shit. What a blow. Damn, Nic.

Just stop with the preseason already. Why is Dame taking charges in these games?

Damn.

Hopefully he'll be recovered in time to play for France next summer.
I don't think you get the pressure these dudes get from national teams.

This past spring, Batum made the difficult choice to not suit up for France in international play for the first time in 14 years (counting his time with the Junior National Team). Although it’s a decision that initially haunted him at the time, it was one he felt like he needed to make.

“I’m going to dedicate my summer to this franchise,” said Batum at the time. “I won’t play this summer for the French [National] Team. I’m going to get back on the court and really work on myself to be back next year and [help this] team get back to a playoff spot. The biggest thing when I [made] my decision is I’m going to spend time with my family and my son every day."

Batum dealt with some backlash from the French faithful, a fanbase that has grown accustomed to seeing consistent, sustained success on the international basketball stage.

“Nobody in France is happy about [my decision]. I can understand that. I can understand that because if you miss the National Team, you look like a traitor sometimes. So, that’s tough because I gave so much to [the French team] and some people understand my decision and some of them don’t. That’s life. I can’t really pay attention to it if it hurts a little bit.”

Do they need a SG/SF? Like, say, Evan Turner? I'd trade him for another TPE!

If only.

They'd need to send out nearly 14M in salary to be able to accept Turner in trade, and there's no reasonable way for that to happen. Considering that their draft basically consisted of Monk and Bacon, I wouldn't be surprised if they just let the rookies man the SG spot for them all year.

Sheeit, I'd even do this. :)

I think they're expecting big things from Dwight; I doubt they're interested in offloading him for an overpaid, underperforming swingman with no outside shot.

Clifford did coach Harkless his rookie season.

I dunno. I just recall whenever LA did happen to run a fast break he had a knack for bobbling the pass out of bounds, turning what should have been an automatic two points into a lost possession.

3/4th of our team did that one year. lol.

at 22 mil? And after this surgery? Going into year 10? No thanks.

He'll be fine. It's his left elbow. Not his left knee. And he'll still be in his basketball prime.

I'm going to choose to ignore your comment about not that hate-able.

I agree they've got some players and may surprise some teams.
However they play in the West, and the majority of their games are against Western Conference teams. Meaning they aren't going to pick up many in conference wins.
They've got a 50/50 chance against any of the lesser eastern conference teams...
Shit I'd say they have a 50/50 chance against 5-8th seed eastern conference teams as well.
But their chances drastically diminish when they face the West.

Oh and.. Fuck the Lakers.
