I don't think Detroit would consider this trade w/o a first rounder attatched to it.
I also am unsure if Charlotte makes the trade.
Between MKG, Batum(injured but still 4 years left), Lamb, Monk. I'm not sure if there are minutes to be had for Turner.

Yeah, honestly I agree. Lamb will probably start in Batum's place, and probably play SF minutes when MKG is out. I'm guessing they really don't see much need to find another SG/SF to fill Batum's slot.

I thought getting rid of Meyers at any cost would make EVERYBODY happy?
Also, we cut a year off of the financial obligations involved with Turner/Meyers.
Howard backing up Nurk - there are much worse things I can imagine. Like Meyers backing up Nurk!
So, despite the fact I made the post in jest, I'm going to have to disagree with you. It makes sense in at least 3 different ways.

They'd need to send out nearly 14M in salary to be able to accept Turner in trade, and there's no reasonable way for that to happen. Considering that their draft basically consisted of Monk and Bacon, I wouldn't be surprised if they just let the rookies man the SG spot for them all year.



I think they're expecting big things from Dwight; I doubt they're interested in offloading him for an overpaid, underperforming swingman with no outside shot.

The still have Jeremy Lamb as well. I expect him to have a breakout season.

Only meant relatively. It was much easier to hate them when they had Bryant and co. than it is to hate a bunch of young players who don't really act bad. I still dislike the franchise, I always will but as far as players go I find it much easier to dislike Warriors now, for example.

What were his comments? That Asians shouldn't wear dread locks? I've heard so many white people say that about other white people.

The two aren't mutually exclusive, and in fact, usually align.

I had to look them up, because all I've seen was Lin's response. Martin said the following first.

"Do I need to remind this damn boy his last name Lin? Like, come on, man. Let's stop it with these people. There is no way possible he would've made it on one of our teams with that bulls--t on his head. Come on man, somebody need to tell him, like, 'alright bro, we get it. You wanna be black.' Like, we get it. But your last name is Lin.'"​

Yeah, I think that claiming an Asian wearing dreadlocks only does so because he wants to be black, there's an argument that it's racist. Then again, it also depends on how you define the term, and I think that you define it differently than most people in this forum.

Separately, I also find it amusing that he referred to Lin as "this damn boy". I can't imagine the crapstorm that would ensue if a non-black ex-player used that term about a black athlete.

Martin definitely did not acquit himself well with those comments.

I couldn't agree with this more.
If the only reason you have to dislike someone is because of what they look like. You're pretty ignorant and frankly not worth my time.
