You really think the Bulls will be able to hold both LBJ and Wade to 12-32 shooting, and 33 points combined for three more games?

Highly doubt it.

You think the Heat can win 4 games in 6 tries against a team they haven't beaten once all year?

Dirk is having one of the greatest games in playoff history. 38 points 10-12 Fgs 18-18 FTs through 3 qtrs. Amazing. Maybe the Blazers will be the only team that could beat them.

He just needs 2 more FT's without missing to tie the all time record for FT's without missing in a game.

Dirk only needs 1. He's 20-20 right now.

How does Barea do what he does? He makes everyone freeze and then scores at will. It's remarkable.

lol Rudy, of all people, has turned out to be the only guy to shut down Barea so far.

I'd give Rudy some credit for that but when you're shooting 22% on the other side of the court, you're a net negative.

Wow. Dirk broke the record as long as he doesn't miss any the rest of the way. He's only missed 8 free throws all playoffs. I give Free Throw Guy credit for a couple of those misses.

15 shots, 46 points for Dirk. Just ridiculous efficiency.

Seriously, we played this Dallas team so much better. I can't put my finger on why OKC and LAL have had so much trouble stopping em.

Holy shit. If they foul Dirk again, he has a chance of hitting 50 on 15 shots. And NO THREES attempted.

It's pretty crazy how many free throws Durant, Westbrook and Nowitzki have shot

Durant had an AMAZING game too, but he's being overshadowed.

Dirk is my new favorite player in the NBA. Very level headed. Seems like a good guy in his interviews. He has won me over.

I really think the Blazers could have gone to the Finals this year and possibly have won it all.

Carrlise has no imagination on offense, all he ran was pick and roll and isolation. Scott Brooks made zero defensive adjustments and is an idiot for switching screens. Both teams need to make a coaching change.

Or

Dallas is very difficult to defend and isolation and pick & roll are two effective offenses in the NBA.

If Dallas didn't exist, you mean? Even if we played a different team in the first round, we still would've faced Dallas eventually and they are flat out better than us and it's not debatable. Aldridge has a way to go until he can dominate like Dirk. But I can definitely see him doing it later in his career once he has the experience Dirk has.

By the way, I will not be surprised at all if Dallas wins their next 7 games and finishes the playoffs on a 14 game win streak. They are on and I don't think anyone can stop them.

Yeah, Dallas is hot this year (would've had the best record in the NBA too if Dirk hadn't gotten injured).

But I also meant that we let the series slip from us. We could've gotten game 1 if we made our open shots (and if the refs weren't BS....but that's beside the point). We also could've won game 6 if we didn't let our lead slip and/or made our open shots again.

As good as Dallas has been, I still don't see them as truly great, and I feel like it was nerves (mentality), more than anything, that took the series from us.

But we've got no killer instinct. Aldridge and Roy act 'unselfishly' but they have to realize that the burden is on them, as leaders, to set examples for the rest of the team. Otherwise, we're still soft.

Might've had an even better record of Caron Butler hadn't gotten injured. Remember him?

Listen to yourself. "If we made open shots" and "we have no killer instinct." That is exactly WHY Dallas IS a great team. They DO make open shots and they DO have killer instinct. You're basically saying we could've beaten Dallas if we were better than them, lol. Exactly. Our outside shooting is awful. It was awful all year and even worse in the playoffs.

Dallas has completely won me over. I hope they go the whole way. And don't give me this "they're not truly great" stuff. Think how hard it has been for us to get out of the first round. Well, the Mavs have just won two rounds, including a four game sweep of the two time champions. They are now three wins from the Finals because Dirk Nowitzki just scored an 48 points in 15 shots with no three point attempts. It was a Top 20 NBA Playoff performance of All Time. They look truly great to me.

You seem to think it's normal in the NBA to get a decade before you have to produce anything. 2 years is typical, then you're out. McMillan is contracted to 8 years.

My post was about Dallas and OKC, that's why it's in the playoff thread.

Carlisle is Nate on Steroids with the pick and roll and ISOs. I wonder if Dallas fans are whining about Carlisle putting his best player in a simple offensive set that had the greatest chance of him succeeding?
