Cept that the 73 win Warriors started the year 24-0, and of their first 14 games, 6 were on the road.
this Warriors team is on a pace to win 70 games. Are they that good? of course not
are they good enough, right now, to win 55 games? of course (is Portland?)
are they better, right now, than almost everybody expected? of course
I think it's clear the Warriors are playing extremely well. They are doing exactly what good teams are supposed to do and that's sweeping just about all the games they should win. If the Warriors can get Klay and Wiseman back and stay healthy by avoiding any major injuries; and if Klay just hits about 80% of the player he was, the Warriors will very likely be in the race for top seed
but is that really a surprise? I'd also think it's time, considering how much Steve Kerr was dissed as a HC around here this last off-season, to start giving him more credit
Have the Warriors blown out 4 WC playoff teams this year? The Blazers have.
you come up with some of the wackiest gauges. Do you find them in the book of '
Things That Mean Diddly-Squat' ?
do you think those blow-outs mean anything other than 1 win each? Portland beat the Suns when the Suns were playing poorly. They had a chance to prove it wasn't a fluke in a rematch but lost by 10. They beat the Clippers, but lost the two rematches by an average of 19 points. They did beat Memphis by 20, but Memphis is a .500 team. And I'm assuming you're defining the 15 point win over the Lakers, at Moda, when Lebron sat out as the other "
blow-out". Their record is 4-5 without Lebron, but 1-2 on the road
using early season blow-outs, one way or the other, as a gauge of anything is kind of loopy. The only thing we know is that some nights Portland plays very well, and those nights have been at The Moda. And other nights, on the road, Portland has stunk up the gym. And the test of a good team has always been the road
