The Bobcats have a long way to go to become relevant again. It sucks because Charlotte used to be such a great basketball city. They lead the league in attendance for many years in the 90's

Possibly. But, PER doesn't always tell the whole story.

His shooting has been pretty atrocious all season, but the 76ers still have a lot of value placed on him. My guess is that they ship him off at the deadline when his value is the highest.

That's the most surprising part. With the whistles he gets as a rookie playing on a crappy team, if he can become an average FT shooter, he'll lead the league in scoring. And, the more he scores, the more whistles he'll get. It's how the Stern Hype Machine works.
