28/19 and 5-5 three pointers for Love tonight - AND HE DIDN'T EVEN PLAY IN THE 4TH QUARTER.

He's averaging 23.6 PPG and 19.2 RPG over his last five games - and that doesn't include his 31/31 game on the 23/24 he hung on the Lakers.

He currently leads the league in ORB, DRB, TRB, RPG, DRB% and TRB%. So far this season, he's posting rebounding numbers this league hasn't seen since Dennis Rodman's last season with the Bulls in 97-98. And, unlike Rodman, Love actually scores more than 6PPG.

So, what are the chances Love makes the all-star team this year? His seasonal averages are 18.9 PPG and 15.1 RPG and climbing.

If he keeps this up, he has an argument as the best power forward in the West, or even the NBA, sub-par defense or not. His numbers are incredible. He should be an All-Star lock if he stays anywhere near this level.

I remember when the Wolves traded Mayo for Love, I couldn't believe how stupid they were to give up a sure thing for this nonathletic stiff who was going to get eaten alive by "real" NBA power forwards.

It's nice to be proven right ...

This offseason any time I would propose that we trade for Love. Everybody made sure they let me know that I was insane for even thinking this. Everybody told me that he's an unathletic stiff that can't get off the bench during FIBA. Without mentioning that he was averaging 25/25 per 40 minutes in Europe.

This looks like a job for...

Here is my problem with Love. Over his last 5 he is averaging 19.2 rebounds per game, but last night only pulled down 19. If I wanted a PF who couldn't even get their average in rebounds, I'd keep Aldridge.

I've seriously been saying this since the middle of his rookie season.

And I have been with you since Season 3. His numbers pretty much are completely proportional to his increase in minutes, except his blocks actually decreased each season. He is basically the same LA we got his rookie year with a few additional offensive moves, none of which have panned out to make him more efficient or dependable as a scorer.

Right now the guy I have my eye on is Larry Sanders. I think this dude will be a flat out stud in 2 years.

Umm, yeah right. If you say so. Never mind that Evans is injured, grabs 3.2 fewer RPG, and oh yeah, there's the little fact you omittied that Kevin Love scores 15.4 MORE PPG than Reggie Evans. Evan's averages 4.0 PPG and would have a hard time scoring 10 points if you locked him in the gym by himself for an hour.

What if we traded for him, got him a lifetime membership with a tanning booth and taught him Spanish? :ohno:

He'd probably just whine about wanting to move back home to be closer to his family and friends. Oh wait...

I fully expect that Rasta won't reply to this post. Thats usually his M.O. when he's wrong.

Love with 33 and 15 last night against NYK. 3-5 from behind the arc. He's now averaging 20 and 15 and shooting 40% from downtown.

Even if LMA and Love are roughly equal today, wouldn't you want to get the guy who is only in his second year and getting better versus the guy in his 5th who hasn't gotten much better in the last three years?

Seems like an easy choice to me.

Really, I would prefer to have both.

As long as Aldridge will accept coming off the bench.

Minnesota is 5-16. Sounds like we have a ZBO on steroids, except ZBO played a little bit better on defense.

Love would be a fantastic 3rd or 4th option on a title contender, if he would accept that role. A 44% FG primary scorer isn't going to do much in the NBA in terms of winning, and he isn't even consistently double-teamed. As an "All-Star" primary player, he doesn't win, at least so far in his career.

Love has a relatively low PER (23.6) considering he is a 20/15 player.

23.8

Good for the 3rd best among PF's and 11th best league wide. Slightly trailing Nash, Lebron and Howard. Despite being just 22 years old.

His stats would suggest a higher PER, but his mediocre TS% and eFG% make him much lower than he should be.

Guy is a stat beast. I agree with this. Not sure what more you expect from people with all of your posts about Love. His team is terrible again this year, and gives up almost 110 ppg.

Love's PER so far this season is on par with Brandon Roy's career high: 24PER.

He has a horrible team around him, yes. You can find stats that make him look bad if you dig deep enough, yes.

My flurry of posts about him mainly have to do with posters around here saying I was nuts for wanting him over Aldridge in the offseason. Most those posters have disappeared when it comes to discussion about Love never to face up to the fact that they were wrong.

Was Aldridge for Love ever a realistic possibility? I'd like Chris Paul over Brandon Roy. Think that's going to happen?

Shit, let it go. Who said you were nuts? Spamming the board with Kevin Love stats seems more like an obsession than an "I told you so".
